Let’s talk E BIKES!

Finally pulled the trigger. I’d never rode one before. Damn….these things are a freaking blast! Even with no power, it’s not a horrible pedal at all. 28 mph top speed, cadence and torque sensors, 750 w…can’t wait for the delivery.

I would never attempt to ride an e-bike for the purposed for which I own one, on narrow tires. It's probably fine for nice lease roads and flat fields, but it would be treacherous in my neck of the woods.

I'm referring to tall tires vs. short tires, not fat tires.

A standard mountain bike that has 29" tires will ride smoother than a standard mountain bike with 24" tires. Taller tires will go over bumps, rocks, sticks, etc. with less issues.

First thing I'd change is that "arse claymore" for something more comfortable to sit on

I think you answered your own question. With the two sized tires hitting the same object, the larger tire will have a less steep angle of attack to ride over and down the other side. A smaller tire will have a steeper angle of attack requiring a quicker rise over a shorter period to overcome the obstacle. The shorter tire once over the obstacle will either fly off or slam down depending on speed. Whereas the larger tire will stay in contact longer and be more apt to bridge the gap on the back side between the object and the ground. Like trying to roll your floor jack over a zip tie vs your truck rilling over it. Now, what's the difference between the two offered sizes? I'm not sure, but they offer the bigger one for a reason and geometry says it wouldn't be wasted money.
