I've been on the lookout for more ply. barred rock pullets to start replacing the 2.5yr old OGs. Have 4 BR left, 5 RIR, but they've slowed down enough we're out eating them. Had to buy eggs on this last grocery run, not cool.

Score! Local young girl raised extra 45 golden buffs and 45 barred rocks this summer, selling for $20/ea. at 5-5.5 months old. Ended up getting 9 so that makes an even 18 flock now. The OGs will be 3yrs old in spring '26, time to start taking out 6 for the freezer each year and replacing with 6 new layers. Time for some leg bands, they all look the same.
I miss having a clothesline, always had one as a kid, same at grandparents. Dryer decided it had enough, so a hillbilly line it is. Feeling a little Amish to get us thru the weekend lol.

We just got a new gas stove/double oven for the house. Old one lasted 26 years. Repairman said new appliances now are designed to last 5-6 years. Our washer/dryer and fridge are also 26 years old and as long as we can get parts, we’ll continue to fix them when they break down.
I decided to tear into the dryer, lucked out it was just a broken belt which then took out a sensor wire. Got it up and running late Friday before camping departure. The new GE all in one arrived yesterday, now with some extra side drying capacity lol.
