Well boys going on my first duck hunt in the A.M. A friend of a friend needed a 3rd because someone backed out. Heading to Ottawa national Refuge for a draw hunt. @jagermeister and @triple_duece coached me up. Ill have updates as this unfolds

Whatever you do, make every effort to hide well. These ducks are stale right now and if you aren’t hidden you won’t have a chance. Good luck dude.

Waters not froze here like it usually is at this time. Lots of local geese hanging out but not many ducks flying around. I think the warm weather has them up north still. We did mange to get a few geese last weekend.

Last day in the north zone, we went to a traditional honey hole jump-shooting spot at first light this morning. Nada. Skunked. So we ate like kings at a local diner for breakfast and enjoyed some fellowship. It was a good waterfowl season. Hopefully 2024 will yield similar results.

Yeah not a lot of ducks around right now. I was kind of surprised not seeing hardly anything other than swans and local geese.

My youngest wanted to start waterfowl hunting this year. So I geared back up and took him and his buddy today. What a muddy ass cornfield, but it paid off. I didn't even pull the trigger

Missing isn’t as bad as not shooting!

Me and the kid each knocked one down tonight. Shooting was sub par.

Went with the kid and a few of his buddies this morning. I killed two. The rest, not so much

Went back Sunday morning and killed 3. Boys got em this time. I slept in.

Her first waterfowl hunt and we limited. She worked the call pretty good and I think she’s hooked. She already found a call for me to buy her and she’s been watching calling videos since we got home. She even picked up on our lingo. One of the last groups she goes, “they hooked, get ready boys!” Warmed my heart and made me chuckle.
