Some spots I use earth anchors in others I like the chain and small grapple. It's light weight and fast. I just tangle it up in some honeysuckle and move on.

This is my bait. Seen it as I was walking by so I just grabbed it. Im sure we have something stale in the cupboard that would've worked just fine.

I pound the stake down through the swivel opening. Only use the loop to keep from sliding off the top. This allows it to have full 360 rotation without spinning the stake

I didn't set my coon sets this weekend. Didn't want to drive down in the morning if the roads are bad. Instead I set six coyote sets behind the house in waxed dirt. Not really expecting much on the first night but give it a few days. I can check them in the mornings before work. I hope we get that inch or two of snow on them they are predicting

Muskrats with drought ? This is the first bad drought where there was zero water in nearly all the ditches I can recall in my life. I'm assuming rats skip to ponds rivers or just go until they find water or do they live more like ground hogs to get through droughts? I was surprised to see a rat hit on the road next to a small ditch this last warm up. The ditches all have some water in them now but we still are far from normal. I wouldn't have thought they would be back already with no water sources in that area for such a long time span. I didn't hear anyone talking about rats in their ponds this summer either.

They don’t need much, but yea they’re gonna go to wherever the water is. Safety and aquatic plants… that’s their livelihood. You can find them in bank dens in ditches when water gets scarce.

Traps are empty. Cams only showed one grinner all night. I figured with the cold and snow it would be like this.

I had a deer set off one of my yote traps. Going to remake now and set some coon sets since we had no snow at all here. They should run tonight
