Travel route in North Carolina

Question for J, Clay or anyone thats familiar...... is the new I74 bypass @ Winston Salem open ? I'm not sure if it was completed yet or not when we traveled thru back in Feb. Getting ready to go back to N.Myrtle tomorrow. My Onstar directed us that way, but a mile later, it said we left the route, so I backtracked & went thru Salem....

It is open from 52 to business 40 but if you are going to Myrtle it is still better to go all the way down to I-40 to I-74 around high point

The light blue is the new part that misses the busy part of us52 in Winston. I would only take the new light blue route if there is a back up on us52.

On another note the new bypass around Rockingham is open but I wouldn't take it. It is several miles longer and the old way straight down to us74 where you get on by the Hardee's is faster. The light blue that cuts off the dark blue is the old way.

I'm talking about between I74- between rt 421 & rejoining just west of Union Cross. I think I saw it open when we came back home in March, but stay on to 40 into Wiston Salem

@"J" The Buc-ee's on I-81 near Harrisonburg, VA is open. The one in Mebane will be awhile

There's a new extension of 74 that skirts Winston Salem.....

No that is far from open, will be great when it finally is done. I think it is several years away.
