Well, Evercalm doesn't smell the same after a year. After season is over I think I will try to vacuum seal the new that I purchase.

I forgot all about this thread. I went back out a bit ago after seeing this last night & made up a new scent post at one of my mineral sites that the does are hitting hard. I wanna see what their reaction is since things were quite rainy when I first attempted. Should be quite interesting I hope.

I bought the Trophy Blend last year. Had deer stay around once they got into the area. Shot my buck over it. He came in, acted like he was going to walk away, then seem to be drawn to it when he crossed over where I walked. He came right to where I had rubbed some on a tree. That was all she wrote.

However, I saved mine and didn't vaccuum seal it, just threw it in the fridge. I hope it's still good. It's not evercalm expensive, but I don't want to buy it again. Ill try it out here in Jersey first.

Ok, here's my attempt at twerking....

Actually I'm applying my Evecalm in the middle of my favorite mineral lick. @ 930pm my mms cam sent me a pic of a small buck ( the first buck here since June ) walking into the site, but my MP6 only caught the tail end of him leaving, so I doubt he even stopped. This morning a boat load of does & fawns stopped by, but this pic below is the only evidence of any deer checking the scent out. I applied to a sappling upwards & the fallen branch, both circled & there was only a brief acknowledgement. I really don't know what I was expecting, but hell, the deer were calm !

Well, the deer have been hitting this spot & everything just stopped back on Tuesday night. This is the last pic I've recieved of any deer from my mms cam. The squirrels are still hitting it, but nothing remarkable has been happening with the Evercalm. It looks as if the deer is sniffing my scent post, but I believe she's just looking up. They'll be back thru, but nothing exciting has happened from this test.

I remember years ago, before we knew what a trail cam was, I would take a stick of speed stick deodorant ( unused ) & rub that on trees. I recall does & fawns would come by & lick it. I would then take the deodorant & open it up to create a wick. I had a small buck come in one morning standing there licking it. Sounds odd I know, but my thinking was that it was a scent they never experienced before, so they were curious. I haven't done that since. I guess it's something that got put back in my memory somewhere & almost forgot about it.

Adam Hayes is huge on Ever calm. I bought the combo of Vs-1 and ever calm last year and used every hunt. I got winded once that I know of. He wrote article promoting his use of it last month on American Hunter. Com. Also Check out my friend JT's week out west. Same site. Huge mule deer and elk in one week.
