Its a great time to hit the river. First spot I hit was just a bit too swift. Only 1 fish in an hour. Moved to my next spot and picked up 3 in 45 minutes. Literally a dozen other people on the river as far as I could see. Gotta love it. Heading back up after church tomorrow

I got up today about 11:30 caught my fourth about 3:30.. I think I'm done for the year.. My arm is toast and I have 30 in the freezer.. So unless I get a "do you want to go" I will be waiting on next year :)

Dang it Don. Yesterday was up and down for me. After I went and switched reels I bounced around to a few different spots trying to find a pocket of fish. Right as you texted me that you got your 4th I banged out 3 quick ones and hit the road myself. Had a spot to myself way out in front of the beach. That made 64 for me in the freezer this year to go with the 18 still left from last year. Im gonna hit it today, tomorrow, Friday and the rest of the weekend. I foresee some 6 fish limits coming Friday-Sunday:smiley_coolpeace:

I did want to give it a try for a six fish limit it's been a few years since I took six home.. I just don't see it happening. I did get a kick out of the two guys down from us when I answered.. I'm using a pink jig and a glow tail..

Went out today hoping to catch one or two. Ended up with my first limit of the year and my cousin caught two. It is starting to heat up a little bit. All in all a great day to fish in the misty rain.

Nice job man. It's killing me not to be out there. I should get cleared on wednesday to do some lighter activity. They are crushing the crappie and saugeye at Indian Lake, so I think I will hit that up until April 8th when they are supposed to clear me completely, in which I will be on the river

Every year I always think about making the drive. 3 hours driving is not worth 4 fish....if I'm successful. That's what holds me back. Wish I lived closer like you guys do.

I live less than five minutes away and I could care less about it anymore.

I'd rather take the boat out in may-june and catch sheepies with my kids.

Those are my most memorable trips from a kid. I don't remember any walleye or perch trips...catching those sheepheads on light tackle and chasing the white bass schools I remember! Those were the fun trips as a kid. Who am I kidding, they're still fun.

We love it. So easy to catch with jigs. The boys get a Fish Ohio sheephead just about every trip out.

I gotta admit, I still love fishing the run. I find it so challenging to go get fish on days others just struggle. Some days you can get'em on a hook with a booger for bait. But those super tough days where you walk in and everyone says dont waste your time, and you proceed to light them up, Man I love it. I grew up fishing up there when it was all a leadhead game and you hoped to snag one close to the mouth. Seems like evryone hates dealing with A-holes down there, but in the last 5 years or so, most people have the program down good enough to where they dont fugg you up too bad. As long as Ho Chi Minh and the rest of the village dont decide to surround you on both sides, its usually pretty uneventful. But I just took Swantucky's advice years ago and just fingerfuck the whole line of them all at once. I can retie a rig way faster than them:smiley_coolpeace:
