We left some out there for you Red. We mainly drifted and one of the guys caught a 15# plus channel cat. He had his hands full on light tackle LOL

Went out Friday, there are still some walleye out there. Had to go out to 64 FOW to find some that wanted to bite though.

There should still roughly be 115 million of them left. The bite is a bit tougher right now as it always is at the tail end of the mayfly hatch and extreme heat. We ONLY caught 62 fish in 3 trips this weekend. The guys who regularly catch fish caught fish. The guys who thought they were professionals in june when the walleye are suicidal struggled last week.

Do they figure that like they do deer?

Not stirring, serious question.

I'd say it's a a very good estimated guess but they actually back it up with trawl surveys. I can say from what I've seen there are more walleye in the lake of catchable size than I've personally seen since the early 80s. I've fished canadian waters of lake erie also and the number of fish there is off the charts also. Add in all the undersized fish that we are catching right now because of the huge hatches in 2018 and the future is very strong. We are throwing back 30 to 60 undersized fish every trip right now..

Good deal. I’ve done a bit of reading in the past but it’s been a couple of months. I knew about the surveys now that you mention it. That’s also an international program, correct? Or is it just between the states?

Them perch guys still hurting?

I just know about ohio doing their own surveys. The perch are plentiful in the lake dont let anyone tell you otherwise. We are catching them trolling spoons right now on accident. I saw 5 12 inch perch caught by accident Saturday. Guys are catching good numbers of them on the west end right now.

At the very least it’s a shared program with all the states that are part of Lake Erie. I’m sure someone here knows more about it and how it works.

Good to hear on the perch! 👍🏼
