DEAL Walmart is blowing out guns again at 50%+ off.

Confirmed. Last year I picked up 2 AR's (DPMS) for $500.00
Sold 1 for $500, kept the second- Free gun. Score!
 
I searched my area pretty good looking for one of those Henry deals. I couldn't find one... Thanks for the heads up though, hopefully I can score next year and be better prepared.
 
Just got back from the local walmart. Nothing was on any kind of blowout sale. All they had marked down was a .17 HMR and a .22 that were "clearanced" at $30 off.

I think it's on all last year models and you basically have to get lucky for it to hit the shelf. Anyone working at a Walmart or friend of...would be all over this. A couple guys get lucky because some dumbass employee has no idea what the things are worth put them on sale.
 
I thought the store that houseofmoto, phil and I spoke of near Perry was discontinuing guns at that store...explaining the mad pricing...

No, that store is still selling guns.

Here's what is happening:
Walmart resets it's hunting items every August. This year they are getting rid of the Ruger American rifles and the Marlins. Those are going to be replaced by Weatherbys and Henry rifles. Hence the clearance. The Ruger Americans are being sold at $114 under cost.

I'd hoped to hear that a few of you managed to score some nice firearms at ridiculous prices.....

Oh yeah, last year Walmart decided to stop selling the evil AR15 style rifles. Thus last years blowout pricing.
 
I was in a Walmart Friday evening. The only thing I noticed was the Marlin 4570 being marked down to 539 from 589. Still, pretty good price.
 
It seems hit or miss. Some stores do it. Others don't. Nice gesture on your part Steve. Thanks for the heads up that some of the stores are doing it again. Be cool if some of our TOO members were able to snag some deals.
