Keep after 'em Frank. Only takes a second to change a whole season.

I hunted 6 hrs on Thursday in my woods and didn't see anything except about 20 squirrels. But I was in a blind on the good trail and can only see about 10% of my woods but that's were all the deer was taking.
I haven't seen a buck since 11-12.
We will see. At least the wind direction will be OK on Sat. & Sun.

I took tomorrow off to take my boy. It will be his 33rd sit of the year and i sure hope he is rewarded with an opportunity at a big mommy doe. He says we are sitting all day if that's what it takes!

Heading to the farm where we got pics of BT and Cuz tomorrow. Thinking Sunday I may go hunt with dad and do some walking since it's gonna be raining. Figure we may be able to sneak up on a deer or two.

Nothing to report from the doctor today to keep us out of the woods tomorrow morning, so I'll be taking the wife out in the AM in hopes of keeping the streak alive!

My plans are finalized! I'll be sleeping late both days, drinking some Dunkin Doughnut coffee when I wake up, and fooling around the house all weekend.
My dang wife sent Mason to his Grandpa's this weekend, so there will be no hunting for us!

I can continue bowhunting, but this weekend is my brother's last chance until next year. I'm hoping he gets one and I'm going to do what I can to make it happen for him. We'll be out until the rain hits, late in the afternoon Saturday and we'll be out all day Sunday.

Good hunting, to all! :smiley_bril:

Kody, pap, and me will be out all day tomorrow.
Sunday is limited to the morning because both boys have basketball at 1:00 then the wife booked us for the Polar Express train ride in Dennison at 4:00.

Not only is it bonus weekend, but the Steelers and Cowboys play at 4! Wtf?????

Yeah, the wife and I had a bit of an argument over this, but the little girl won't be little forever and she's dying to do this.

I hope the big bucks cooperate tomorrow for at least Kody!

I've come up with a half-assed, bumbled fugging around plan that involves me sitting right off the ground in my millenium tomorrow morning, moving sticks around noon, ending the day in a tree, and then hunting tomorrow in my millenium in the rain.

Hahaha yea, so I'll probably snooze and sit in a lawn chair til 10. ha!

And damnit, I might take the muzzleloader out tomorrow night in a different spot. Who knows...I can't plan a hunt worth a crap. I did get all my stuff together and I'm fearful that by being even that organized I'll shoot a deer tomorrow...

Had 4 does come in this morning. There is a huge doe and twins in these woods, and when I saw the twins I got excited! Turns out it was a 2 year old doe and twins plus a tag-along, and they came all the way to 20. They were in not the greatest spot to shoot with the neighbor and the biggest doe never gave me a perfect shot, so I passed. Pretty sure the one was within 15 yards. Never a bad thing to have a young doe throwing twins around and as Jim texted this morning, a clean pass that you know could have been a dead deer might as well be a kill. When they turned and ran, the tag-along stayed for 2-3 minutes, so fairly certain it was a lonely button.

About 40 minutes later, I heard the guys way out behind me open up. Waited the usual 5 minutes, and sure enough a deer came crashing into the woods and stopped at 20 yards. Little 3 point. Poor guy had his tongue stickin out and looked bushed from the running! He walked over to my chair and I fed him a few cheetoes while I scratched his ears and told him where to go lay down, and that he was safe! hahahaha

Gonna sit tonight with the smokepole. If the adjacent woods get pushed today (high chance), I have a good feeling I'll see something. If not, that's alright too. I'm hoping for a fat momma!

Great morning in the woods...this was the same spot where I shot my buck on Opening Mornings, so between both mornings, I saw 9 deer before 9am. Too bad the woods were dead when I was there with my bow!

Sounds like a good hunt Huck. I took my drive. I was discouraged. Saw one trespasser on a property close to home. Next property over was a guy with permission but he is an unethical douche of a "hunter". They can't be more than 150-200yds apart.

Keep driving over to my property. My cousin and his boy were in there until 10. His boy has the flu so they left early after seeing nothing. Well, no deer. They did see a guy wander in and stand on the corner of a woods out in the field but it isn't my property so I have no control over it. I did see two other guys in tree stands on a neighboring property. Granted they have permission, but they are known for roaming wherever they want and other unethical/illegal activities.

Overall it was discouraging and frustrating. I would love to show my kids and my cousins what hunting is about. Sadly, this is what they are seeing as "hunting". Hopefully my cousin can make it back out even if his boy is sick tonight or tomorrow. It is the first year deer hunting for both of them. I would love to see one of them connect.

The neighbors really put the screws to us this morning. We still had fun together and I guess that's what matters most. Headed to my uncles now for lunch and to beat some brush. Gotta be the slob redneck deer driver I am!!!
