Any water near by? A little watering hole might be a good idea TOO. Looks great man.

I have a 1/2 acre pond out back, they usually hit the food first and then hit my pond for water at night. If we get enough rain, there is some standing water within 50 yards of the plot.

Great idea and nice work! You might even go Ted Miller on it and add a scrape tree with licking branch back there TOO. Maybe even a horizontal rub with camera over both. Just a thought.

I have seriously considered this... Might have to snag a good limb off the burn pile and bury it in one of the plots. Be interesting to see how they respond to it.

Ordered my fall planting seed today. Going down soon and till the fall plot under, Wait couple weeks, spray weed killer, and disk it up. The spray again. disk up, spread fertilizer, seed it and either drag in or cultapack the seed down.

Clover looking good after mowing several days ago.

Sprayed for a food plot today. I will be planting this inside corner in an oat mix in a couple week. We will leave 6-8 rows of corn around this edge where I'll hide a ground blind. Once the corn comes off, I'll be able to shoot in to a 3 acre cut corn field or to the food plot. The little finger coming out is where most of the deer come out of the sanctuary that's adjacent to all of this. This will be a S-SW wind set (already a stand hung in the woods on the N edge of the plot). I can walk along the E side of the corn and hook back W once I get to the N end of the field, keeping my wind blowing to the neighbors, then out over the ravine. Almost perfect access when the corn is on. Once it comes off, it'll be a roll of the dice. LOL

Divided up a bucket of lucky buck and 30# berry block on my mineral sites. Used a circular saw to cut block into smaller pieces. Seemed to work pretty good.

Finally got some cameras out. 3 on one property. Have had 2 out on another for a month or two. Haven't checked them yet. Have my camcorder on tripod now watching deer. Feels good to have a night to do this finally.

Good stuff, Phil! When do you plan on checking the two that have been soaking?

I don't know. Been chomping at the bit. Haven't had time. Not sure it matters. Whatever deer are on there will be on there.

Perfect night to watch a field!

Darn right Jesse. Outside of the mosquitoes carrying me away, it was perfect. I even had a half gallon of Cutter sprayed all over me.

Bush hogged for 3rd time my clover plots today to knock the weeds tops off. Added another 1/4 ac of lush clover from a fall planting that's almost 100% coverage.

I went for a walk with the family today. First time in a couple months we've been out back. Food plots are completely over grown with weeds. A ton of branches and trees down and minerals were gone.

My hickory trees are loaded as well. I didn't think to look at the one oak I have...I'm sure it's loaded as well. Should be a good year for natural forage.
