What ever you do with a mineral sight, make sure there’s some water sources near by. It helps...

I tagged you in a thread with a ton of information. I’m sure Jesse will be along to share much more. I just used the search function with adding @bowhunter1023 ad the poster. Came up with a ton of hits.
6-8 per 100 acres is excessive and anyone telling you the right mix will put on 20" just wants in your wallet.

I have 8 mineral spots over 500 acres, you should make 2 or 3 on 100 acres. They dont, by themselves, add bone. I think it may very marginally help add mass as it helps the herd get various minerals and salts they need.

Took the girls for a ride at "recess" today. We cleaned off our mineral site. We'll freshen it up soon.
Snapped a couple of pics while out. Nothing ever grows in this washout, so it looks weird to me to see it all green.
So today we stumbled upon a deer caught in the fence. Looked like he had been there for two or three days. After I seen it was a buck absolutely no common sense took over... I'm thinking if I can get close enough and cut the top wire of the fence that maybe the barbed wire will let go of his foot and he'll be free..... yes he tried to attack me really wasn't having a whole lot of fun with his whole stupid idea of mine. After he got aggressive I noticed his foot was all but broke completely off. I smacked it with a 2" limb and got him out of the wire. We decided he needed to rest so I left him lay and proceeded on our way. Hopefully he makes it out now.
Put out a tub for a water hole and started a second mineral site near it. Didn’t dig the hole yet. Putting it next/in a tiny ditch that is usually dry but should fill it with rain.
