I shot my bow tonight. Be good for the deer if I make a quick and ethical shot.
You guys are lucky as I don't even know of a apple tree in decent driving distance.
I never have. Seems like they'd get mushy. Plus what's the point in freezing 20-30 pounds, I mean how much room does a normal guy have in his freezer to fit a ton of apples?Planted some winter rye tonight in a food plot behind the house.
For those collecting apples. Have you ever tried freezing them to use them later?
Well until we kill some deer we usually have a good bit of room in our deep freeze. We have a big chest freezer. Not thinking about freezing a ton but just some for later use.I never have. I think I've heard Rick say that they turn mushy when they thaw out.Well until we kill some deer we usually have a good bit of room in our deep freeze. We have a big chest freezer. Not thinking about freezing a ton but just some for later use.
I had to replant my oats and turnip plot as the turkeys ate every stitch of seed that I put down in August. No big deal as I got to spend some quality time with my little buddy.
The funny thing about this plot was it all came up and was looking really good. That's when the turkey started plucking the new growth right out of the ground. If it happens again I'll have to figure something out for next year
