I forgot to latch a window last time out and it blew and shattered when we got to our blind yesterday. I told the girls id fire it up to cut the chill they declined. I dont think the younger daughter could have held true on a deer at last light. Heat with young kids keeps helps so much. I dont like the smell.

Hell no i have plenty pics on here with the glow of a buddy heater last gun season. Y not use them if u have a blind and u can sit n light moveable clothing in the upper 20s. Just ment above they r extremely useful for keeping kids afield.

I was teasing. I even have a buddy heater that I never use. Probably because I never used to hunt out of a blind. But this kid hunting from the ground stuff is changing that.

With one of these in a blind you can dress light…less restrictive movement….plus I’m a big pussy.😂

I bet the guys that say they never use a heater are the same ones that see how long they can go every fall before they turn on the heat.

why not be comfortable? You ain’t proving anything to anyone.
What heater? And yes, I waited a long time to turn on the heat. Thinking I might have to put my shorts away, but looking upper 40s and 50s next week.

Those guys? 😁

Never used one. Must be missing out on the good life.
Don't think I missed a day of huntin during the last three seasons too. If I did, the weather must have been really shitty.
It's the wind that usually does me in and will typically cut my hunts short, especially when it's 20 degrees or less with above 10 mph winds. Also, when is that cold out, I try to sit, either in one of my tree-stands or blind, the first couple of hours of daylight, or however long I can possibly stand it, then go do a still hunt afterwards to get my blood flowing again, which warms me right back up on those really chilly days and the wind has to be in my face, or I'll head back to the shop and get warmed back up by the cherry hot woodstove.
I looked into heaters for the blind I think last year, but never pulled the trigger on getting one yet. I still might so, I'll be paying close attention to this thread, thanks!

A heater is a game changer….allows you to sit all day. Only downside is that while in a blind, you don’t get the view and hear sound as well as when you’re in a regular stand. Blinds are great for cold, rainy or windy days. Also great for hunting with kids.

We used to tough it out. The boys were younger and the weather was going to be in the mid teens. I told the boys to load up we going to tractor supply. We arrived and I told them I’m buying mr buddy heaters for all of us and getting them one for Christmas. They threw a fit and both said they didn’t want one. After we used them, they have a much different take on them.
Our humidity is always very high. When we have a frost or freeze the blind even has ice on the inside. I get in half hour or so early and let the heater clear the windows. Swapping the placement under each window I look out of. Also doubles to keep me comfortable. You won’t be disappointed if you haven’t one to use. At that point you have the option to use it or not to stay longer.

Yeah. trust me, I totally get it, especially for the youngsters. Again, I'm not quite sure if I need one just yet. If or when I get one, it will be one that is highly recommended or suggested here on this thread propably.
