I drove dad's work cars when I was in school... first one was a 69 Plymouth furry 3 and then a 66 Chevy belaire now that one was a lead sled... 4 door 250 6 cylinder lol... got beat by a Vega one night hahaha
Some interesting first rides on here! I bought an 83 K5 Blazer, 4 inch lift, 35 inch tires. There are many a times I miss that thing. About 8 mpg, but when gas was still under a buck a gallon, I didn't care....
I had either an 83 or 84 plymouth horizon. That poor car got put through the ringer on more than one occasion. Finally "traded up" to a 1990 escort....lol. Got rid of it and bought a 91 Saturn SC. Put all kinds of performance parts on it. That thing would flat out HAUL for a 4 cylinder! I miss that car to this day.....Just dont miss hitting my head every time I got in the damn thing!
99 Sonoma basically an s10. A few dents and bangs. Always got stuck. No interior carpet. Was a fairly nice truck to. Until it started eating transmissions.
First car was an '86 Ford Bronco II 4x4. Paid 250 bucks for it, but had to pull the trans and have it rebuilt. Second vehicle was an '87 Pontiac Firebird with T-tops... jet black, with a giant firebird decal in the rear window. It was sick. lol
Paid $895.00 for a 1972 Dodge Dart. Had the 318 in it and was a 2 door. Put air shocks in the back with slotted mags with 60's on the rear and thought I was cool. Rotflmao
Seriously though, never had any troubles with it and had forgotten many items left on the roof of it before leaving for school only to still find them on the back glass when I arrived. Lol
Here are a few of my firsts. Started with a hand me down Civic Wagon in white. Yep. Looked like the dang space shuttle. I beat it like I hated it. . . .because I hated it. I don't think I drove it 2 months before replacing it with something I bought myself. 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was tutone butt ugly green. I think they found the two ugliest colors of green they could and put them together. I found some images of the paint scheme on a search. Eventually got a 1974 VW Beetle which had 11,700 miles and was cherry red in cherry condition. My parents still have it in their garage with around 20k miles now. I was bit by the "Bug" and bought a 73 Superbeetle to hop up and turn into a sleeper. I attached a picture of it as well. We drug it out of the weeds over the summer. This is how I left it. I still have intentions of fixing it up. Going to require a ton of work now.
Bought my Dad and Moms 1974 Monte Carlo. Like Ric, air shocks in the rear, American Racing wheels and duel exhaust. 350 with a 4 barrel carb. I loved that car! After I had it for 5 years, I bought my 79' C-J5, 6" lift with 36" ground hogs, full cage roll cage, hard top w/ tinted windows. It was bad ass. I had it for 8 years. I miss that thing.lol. I used to cruise the country side, jamming to " a Country Boy Can Survive". Lol.
Dude thats fugged up, I had the same car. was even the same color. were your seats a kinda ugly blue and grey plaid?
Man I loved that car. I think they are all dead now. I ended up blowing the motor and couldnt find another. They had stopped making the 2.1 liters.
I had a 1970 2 door Metallic Brown Monte Carlo with the rear wheel skirts on it. Added a set of Mind Blower Speakers and an 8 Track Tape Deck.....that ride was cool! Damn surprised I never blew it up or wrecked it. Traded it in for a 79 Ford Ranchero with a cap on the back. 351 Windsor motor and you couldn't hold her down. Took out the back window and replaced with a piece of plywood covered in fake fur. Had a window cut out in it in case you wanted to pass anything up front. Turned the back into a "Lounging Pad" Complete with thick padding, carpet and lots of furry pillows. It was just for show though.........rotflmao
In 1976 I ordered a new 1977 Jeep CJ-7, in all black. It was the first year for Jeeps having a hard top and a longer wheel base. I had it for a year and traded it in for a 1978 VW Rabbit, at 40 m.p.g. and that's when we were bitching cause gas jumped from $0.80 to $1.00. I had the Rabbit a year and traded a GMC Truck dealership title for title for a 1978 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4.
