This would rank right up there in my “last meal” category.

Bluewing teal halves, butterflied venison backstraps, jasmine rice with soy sauce, and my mom’s famous sweet corn. Seared to perfection, medium rare. If it’s any indication of mouthwatering, palette bliss, my 4 year old crushed his plate faster than any pile of chicken nuggets. Lol. Just look at the fat layer on that teal breast… My Lordy!

We struck out on the specialty rifle hunt down here on public land this morning but I found a sweet consultation prize on the hike out and we had a really good time. Fried them up for lunch as soon as we got home. Boy were they good!!!

The girls sat out this afternoon so I went to my sweat lodge with the smokepole in hand. Once again, no dice but my lady said she had a good supper fixed for me. Came home to her best version on potato soup with bacon and sautéed onions....oh yea and cornbread. Not the results we were hoping for but you can't help but be tickled pink on days like today.
