He just told me some things that you can't read About!

The Man who owns the farm I take care of was in WWII. He was on a Bomber plane. He has went into a few details that make you just shake your head. Told me of leaving at 1 am to do a 38 hr bombing mission. Upon return, the red cross girls gave each guy a half-assed stale doughnut and a shot of whiskey when they exited the plane. He didn't drink so the guys would jockey doughnuts to get his whiskey. He said 2 stale doughnuts were not any better than one.

Ahhh, today was a good one for me. Not so much for my youngest son, Eric.

I've had telephone and internet problems for 5 straight days now. I kept calling to get it repaired, they tell me it's fixed, and it wasn't. I'd get phone/internet for an hour or so, then everything would go dead for hours, then another good hour, then everything dead again.

So while I was at my CPR re-cert class this morning (that's done for another 2 years....yay!) the phone company found the problem. I guess someone at the other end of the road, shot bird shot into part of the line. It's been replaced and I was promised everything would actually work correctly from now on.

My son was on his way over to help me with yard work when he ran out of gas. His jeep doesn't have a working gas gauge, but since this isn't the first time this has happened, you'd think he'd figure something out, but I guess not. Anyway, I went to get him and after putting gas in his tank, it still wouldn't start. We tried jumping it and nothing, so we had it towed as he believes it is the starter as that has been acting up.

But the GOOD news of the day, as we were trading places in the car so he could drive, we did so by the recycle bins. And of course, I peeked in and saw that the newspaper was within my reach, so I went dumpster diving! lmao

My chicken son wouldn't help me and was clearly embarrassed, but whatever! When you raise litters of puppies, you learn to get newspaper by any means possible! Definitely a good day! :smiley_coolpeace:

Just got back from the infectious disease Dr at OSU medical center, blood work is looking great , everything is in the needed parameters. The incision is looking great also, everything is looking good, they said another 3 weeks of the IV antibiotics and then I will be able to have the pick line removed and will be able to start taking an oral antibiotic twice daily. Started walking with a cane and physical therapy is going good so if things keep going the way they are I should be good to go in another month or so!

Ron's daughter gigged her first frog recently while hitting a few ponds with her dad and a buddy. They've gotten over 30 so far after two trips. Hope to help eat a few next weekend!:pickle:

Thanks for posting the pic, Bro.

Yes, what a memory to see my youngest gig her first frog. She's a trooper, she stayed at it till 2:30 am with me and had a blast. A childhood memory for her to share with her kids someday.

My wife wanted to replace the burning at our driveway entrance with a weeping cherry. I tried to find one with her on Mothers Day and struck out. She didn't realize they'd run up $100+ and felt bad asking for one. This morning I hauled scrap and got what I needed to buy her a tree. She is leaving at noon for a birthday party and won't be home until tomorrow. She also thinks I'm at the farm hanging stands.

Hauling scrap: $106.73
Weeping cherry and compost: $112.33
Buying seat time in November and water time in January: Priceless.

TOO good!!!

My poodle Zeus got his first chance to stud yesterday with one of my Goldens, and I am so proud! Trust me, not all big dogs figure it out, so I am pleased as punch about this! Hopefully we'll be having Doodles in 9 weeks!

I also got a new female Golden Retriever last night. The neighborhood (Chillicothe) was so bad, I almost wanted to just go home and not see the pup. I was scared to death. Everyone sitting out smoking their crack and acting like idiots.

Anyway, the pup's name is Lil Miss Julie Nines. My son, Eric, and I named her "nines" because we both said we should have been carrying to go into that neighborhood!
