Today sucked. Highlight to my day: My son's soccer was called early due to lightning.
Blessing and a curse first thing this morning. Get a call from a neighbor to one of our properties. He said the state is cutting down your trees. Get out there and it is TOO's very own Yotehunter Jake. Pull in ready to raise cain, and he walks up and says "Hey Phil." Dang. I can't even bitch at him and ask who gave him permission to cut my tree down. :smiley_crocodile:
On the bright side, despite it throwing a curve ball in my daily plans, now I don't need to worry about that dead 5' diameter ash tree falling on the road/taking out the power lines/and disappearing in a state truck. I got a butt-load of firewood out of it. Just wish it didn't throw a monkey wrench in my schedule today. Honestly not anything to complain about but I figured I would give Jake a hard time since I am just finishing up my work day 16hrs after I started it. lol

Got the last piece of the toy delivered. Works great. Just wish it had more side to side power.

Very nice Charles! I tried to buy another backhoe tonight at an auction. The other guy wanted it more. Side to side power could be several things. Hydraulic flow? HP of machine (which I doubt because I thought you got 40-50hp range)? Could simply be lack of mass?

Good weekend. Daughter's soccer team won a game (which is a rarity) on Saturday, then she and I went hunting in the afternoon. Saw deer and she was happy.
Son's team won their division in the league tournament. They peaked at the right time for sure.

Well got the truck, dropped it off too get the spray in bed liner done.... Checked UPS tracking and tonneau cover and nerf bars are being delivered today..... Should have it all assembled by tomorrow afternoon..... My S-10 is sold whenever I want too let him have it.... And just have too sell the Z71 and it'll be out with the old in with the new.....

End of Week 2 at the new gig and I submitted a request for 7 days off. 10/31, 11/5, 11/7, 11/11-13, & 12/1 through our automated program. I get an email from our department director a few minutes later that reads: "Dang, already?!?" So I reply: "I live for November. If it is an issue, I understand. Figured it was worth a shot." He responded a few minutes later with: "I'm just messing with you. Enjoy!"

Sounds like a good group to work for. I started work in July 1969 for a Finance Company in Lima and when I started I asked for a week off in Oct. to go deer hunting in CO with my brothers. Reply was NO vacation until you work 1 yr. but we understand the importance so it's OK. I went and worked for the company until health reasons retired me out.

It is a great company from what I can tell so far. The one thing that I keep coming back to is what I was told in my interview and I've seen it be true already. When I asked about schedule and flexibility on coming/going the response was: "You are a professional and we are not baby sitters. You have a job to do and we'll know if you are not doing it. Do what you need, when you need; just stay up on your work and all will be good." Same guy who approved my vacation told me that and then he close with: "We work hard and we play hard."
I can live with that.

I spent most of the morning fitting this stock to this point. Its still only about 25 percent done. I love working with wood and steel.
Looks great atl!! And jesse, that's pretty kick ass man! I'm gonna kick back and sip a few redds wicked tonight, then begin my 9 days off. Gonna be spent chasing deer, getting prepped for winter, and training this little rascal.
