Sorry Gordo. I just envisioned you as a 15-17yr old kid and almost reached through the computer monitor to dot your eye.

Hoyt- I would tease you, but my daughter is only 3 years behind yours. Makes me want to smack the shit out of random 16yr old boys for no reason. lmao

Bought a new truck last Friday, I have this Friday Saturday Sunday off and Jarrod is coming home from college for the week end. I hoping to break the new truck in proper with some blood in the bed!!!

That reminds me ..... a buddy recently went to by a new truck. While at the dealership, someone backed into his current truck & turned into a hit & run. He got that all sorted out, bought the new truck & he soon wrecked the new one. All in less than 3 hrs. How's that for breaking in ??

Dec 1st I start my new job at odot. I've been applying there like crazy, and if all goes well, I plan on being there for the longevity of my working career. I'll be taking a pretty hefty pay cut, but I know I'll skimp by for a while. Pretty excited to start this new job.

Congrats on the new job.... Make sure you take advantage of heir retirement system as well.... If they offer a 401 with matching $$ max that out too he most you can afford.... You'll enjoy that down the road.... Trust me there.....

What he said. Max it out and never look back. When you retire at 55, you'll be happy you did.

x2. Best thing you can do at a young age is put it away. The more years of compounding interest the better. Guys who got 6-12% returns but started in early 20's have always retired more comfortably than the guys rolling the dice hard to get 30% returns one year and negative returns the next two. Slow and steady.

Congrats on the new job.

Thanks guys. And huck honestly I'm not sure. I would imagine being a state job that it is a union.

Some positions are, others and most of management isn't. It all depends. You'll get a lot of advice from old timers there (and there are a lot retiring these days) about retirement and crap. Phil, Jesse, and J give good advice too.
