Why do we say certain things?

I chuckle sometimes to myself when talking to people and wonder why people say certain things different when talking about different things.

Example, I call deer ages
Fawn
Yearling
2 year old
3 year old and so on

Same as if I was talking about my dog, kids or myself.

But when it comes to deer most will say 2.5 year old....once that deer reaches yearling it get to live in .5 year old status all year every year. Makes me chuckle. People here can guess the inches with 2" but can't change a deers age or just call him 3🤣🤣🤣..

Cracks me up on the inside. I used to do it too but now if you see me say it. Know im laughing. Hahaha.

What makes you laugh on the inside that most people say?

Bunnies enough said!

This web site and the things I see here never cease to amaze me! I often cover my eyes with both hands, yet since my fingers are so gnarly I still see stuff through the cracks... You folks crack me up!!

"Turned up lost."
"Fixin to break something."
"Took and let it go."
"Done started another project."

I have a couple of questions that nobody ever agrees on:

Is it turn up air conditioning or turn down the air conditioning when you want it colder...or hotter?

Is next door the same as one house down?
