Watching Maxx is unreal. I was expecting him to be excited or at least wildly sniffing everything, but no. He just casually followed that scent & it would make the uninitiated watching think that he wasn't sure where he was. THAT dog was actually locked on & all business ! He just has a casual manner about it. Of course, when he gets to the deer, that tail is wagging & he turns into a Tansmanian Devil !

Today was crazy! Tracked a buck about 400 yds w/descent blood in spots. Came up on a buck with its head down. Maxx was 6' from it. Backed up to fist bump the hunter and deer ran off!
Went back in tonight and hunter got tired of the crazy stuff (pretzel patterns) and wanted to call it alive. SMMFH!

Text @ 1:00 am on Thursday morning...
Shot a doe tonight can you track it? Shot her in the guts.
Gotta wait 24 hrs.
Everything I read said 8 -12 hrs
Good luck I'm not waisting my time to jump a deer.
You didn't find my deer 2 years ago either!
Thats cause you can't shoot worth a shit!
Maybe you should practice shooting your bow more?
Eat a bag of dicks old man!
He Blocked...

No wonder Maxx asked for a pistol at Christmas.... 🤣🤣🤣

my sister bought a blood hound to track with (not bright, to damn big). I’m her blood spotter on the trails. She did pretty good her first year, this year she has regressed even though we worked her hard all summer. Did you see anything like that with maxx? I do really enjoy it, brings another aspect to the hunting season. Have already come to realize most people have no clue where they actually hit a deer

Maxx has slowed down and gained precision in his tracking.
I will say Maxx's tracks were very short due to the heat. Scent dogs do not do well in hot and dry conditions. Maybe that is a factor.
