Maxx has slowed down and gained precision in his tracking.
I will say Maxx's tracks were very short due to the heat. Scent dogs do not do well in hot and dry conditions. Maybe that is a factor.

I have heard if you drip saline eyewash into your dogs nose until they start to swallow (just takes a LITTLE bit) it will moisten their nasal passages / remove debris and can help with dry / dusty conditions.

Yes. I practicly force water on Maxx. He drinks out of a bottle (with my finger regulating flow) and I mane sure some gets on his nose as well.

Did a track of 2.25 miles and Maxx showed us blood at 2 mi mark. We jumped it up so its alive. High behind the shoulder.

There are very few deer I don’t locate with the drone. The few I do not find are almost always reported as “maybe a little high”. Those deer seem to just take a very, very long hike after being hit most often.

We done another today. Lil high and stuck in opposite shoulder. Maxx lined out with 2 miles and we still had spotty blood. Buck went by 6 bedding areas, a dried up cattail swamp and never attempted to bed. Hunter said "I give, its alive" I say be on camera in 3-11 days.

Got called to track a nice buck. Watched video of It all. 350 Legend (I'm 0-10 with) Knocks buck down, it flops and kicks. Barely gets back up, runs off whopper-jawed as hell. Back legs were not in sync with rest of the deer. No blood anywhere and Maxx could almost gave a shit less about the smells...
Research calls it Back-Whack. Extreme top of deer near front leggs. Totally disrupts nervous system and causes temporary paralization. Bang, Flop, and Disappear til next time! Deer Lives.

Todays track was a mess. Younger gentleman's biggest deer ever. Went in behind a drone because drone guy "wasn't experienced enough". They started me at last blood after asking for 40-60 yds of blood. THEN let me know he was back-tracking... Finally got Maxx lined out on blood and he proceeded to show us 2 miles of blood yet again with no beds and up-and-down hills even a Billy goat would resist. Hunter now believes muscle hits bleed a lot and deer is fine.
STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER COMES TO MIND...

Oh wow... I forgot to add his friend coming over to track. He brings a 9 month old boy who was a total distraction with Maxx. Plus the Boy only had on a diaper and t-shirt for 3 hrs in the woods... smh.
