not trying to steal you thunder Ric, but here is a buck I had on trail cam last year at my farm. I think he was a 3 year old and was really wanting him to get passed and make it to 4. But he didnt:( Reminds me a lot of your buck....not as big but funky. I called him Medusa. You have your self a very sweet buck and what a HOG

Yeah, he's at Derrys now:-)

Derry will have him back to me in 5-6 weeks!:pickle:

A veteran deer hunter was there talking to Derry when I walked in with him and said, "WOW! What character!" I said, how'd you know his name? Lmao

If I had known you were in town I would have bought you a congratulatory ice cream sundae at Toms! Haha. Congrats again bud, he's a dandy!

Ron(Big H), no I didn't investigate much. Maybe my bro and Chipper might find something when the cut him up this weekend or sooner. Great weather to have one hanging in a garage with the windows open!

Thanks Corey! No problem posting that pic! Yes, they are very similar.

Don, my ass was on fire trying to get back home to take my daughter to the dentist and meet up with Sean. I wish I had time to hook up with you! I'd like to jar of your peach pie if you'd sell me some:-)

Thanks again everyone!

Give me a holler the next time you're in town. I may have a little extra peach pie. ;)

Sorry guys, catching up on my rest and stuff that's been piling up on me around the house. I still have a ton of stuff to do yet. I have blood all over my hunting clothes after the dragging. Btw, what's the best way to remove blood from hunting clothes? Let them soak before washing?

Please be patient, I'll prolly not get it written up till this weekend. Sorry

Thanks again everyone!

May not be the right way, but I just wash them like always. What doesn't come out is just "battle scars".

Congrat's again Ric! Great Buck Man!

Thanks for the info guys!

Brock, this pig wore me and Dennis out dragging him 80 yards down hill and up a small creek bank! I had two I e cold beers apiece waiting on us at the quad before our 1/2 ride back out to the truck. I was running purely on adrenaline! Lol

Dennis is a big ole country fed boy and between him and I it took us 15 minutes getting him off the ground to the front rack of my quad. I was relieved and exasperated TOO finally getting him back to the truck...

......and yes, spooning and snuggling with him crossed my mind!lol

This hunt goes TOO show you how fast things can change on a dime! I was skunked my last 4 sits with two being from this same very stand. One was a morning hunt and the other was a evening hunt a week or two into the season. If you have that "gut feeling" go with it!!!! It's helped me a lot over the years!

Good luck everyone!!!

I needed to hear this just now....I'm going hunting! :smiley_clap:

I don't think I am alone here, but I cannot stop pulling up this thread to gawk at the pictures. What a bohemoth! What a stud! What a monarch of the woods! Ric you are an SOB. You have set the bar for the rest of us entirely TOO high brother!

A deer that dresses 221lbs would wear out anyone, Ric! Having weighed a couple hundred whitetails, I know for a fact a buck that weighs that much is a rare beast indeed and that 80 yards probably felt like 10 miles! Great deer, buddy!
