Yes, the judge did the same thing with the guy that did the study on the voices in the 911 call. Everyone realized that the whole thing was bunk - even the expert...but the judge allowed the questioning anyways.

I hope the jury does the right thing - it's very obvious - but I'm sure they all think they will be hated if they don't give GZ manslaughter....and we all know that if GZ walks clean, there will be rioting down there.

Defense always argues acquittal, it's procedural. She won't hear it and will let the jury do it.

I wonder what appeal court it could go to - I could see poor GZ get convicted for manslaughter and then get off on appeal.

Yea their will be rioting but the funny thing is they always tear up their own neighborhoods.Not very smart.They must all have a little Jeantel in them. LOL

If they riot in FL like did in LA. Trayvon won't be the last person killed in all this. Those FL boys have guns. "Hey bubba. Lets go to Walmart. Ain't that where them riots is Jimbo. Well yeah. But you got a gun don't ya. Yeah. Then what you worried about.

I don't think you will see riots in florida. I think you will see the media flocking into black communities ... attempting to get something going but there won't be riots.

I lived there for 7 years and these folks are not like NY or CA negros. These are basically good people like you and me. I never met a racist black or a stereo typical Ngr till I moved to NY.
The colored folks in FL are ok by me but when pushed by others (like the media) I don't think they will act any differently than I would. You might be able to jack me up with a camera in my face but if left alone?.... I will consider the facts and decide that there is no injustice in this case.

I expect the same from the people down there.

Agreed. Southern blacks are a whole different group of people than up here. The big worry is they've gotten wind of "organizers" planning to bus people in from other cities like Chicago, Detroit etc. The police have gone door to door notifying people of potential civil unrest. And have asked pastors to let their congregations know also. They've even formulated a plan for a state response.

We'll see, but I'm still betting on rioting and a lot of people in the streets. You're talking about cities like Miami where 400,000 people were in the streets celebrating LeBron and D.Wade - who, by the way, both tweeted pictures of themselves with hooded sweatshirts saying "I am Trayvon" after he was killed. Or the protests after the 2000 election or the Elion Gonzalas deportation...

Of course Chicago, the media, and the negro preachers are to blame, but you could say that for just about everything in the last 6 years of this country...

Media hype plays a huge role. And they're still trying to spin it. I keep an eye on the headlines after listening to the days trial. Headline "medical examiner says zimmermans injuries minor". That's it. That's all they wrote about in the whole article. Nothing about the fact that in reality the injuries don't matter, nothing about the fact that the ME said the injuries are consistent with GM story. Nothing about the defense catching the prosecutions witnesses in lies. They're still trying to spin it.

As for demographics. They say Springfield Ohio is only 12% black. Apparently blacks don't fill out the US census. I'd say its more like 60% lol.

For the record, the trial is being held in Sanford (pop. 53,000), NE of Orlando (pop. 250,000). Miami was a reference / analogy...

Sanford has a 29% black population and over 60% White/Hispanic mix.
That might be just enough to draw in the radicals

Defense lawyers will be permitted to show that Trayvon Martin had marijuana in his system when he and George Zimmerman had their fateful encounter in a gated community in Florida last year, the judge in Zimmerman's murder trial ruled Monday.

Judge Debra Nelson denied a motion by prosecutors to keep toxicology results showing THC in Martin's system from the jury, paving the way for Zimmerman's lawyers to argue the drug may have influenced the teen's behavior. Defense attorney Don West noted that in Zimmerman’s statement to the non-emergency 911 dispatcher that it appeared the person he was observing in the Sanford, Fla., community was “on drugs.”
