Dang twire, hope the morning brings you some giants! Never seen a fox in the stand, that must have been cool. Can't imagine a fox makes the deer feel at ease.

Spent 10 hours on stand today and saw 0 deer.... Man what a letdown..... Cold and frosty this morning and very slight breze out of the east this afternoon/evening..... No movement at all..... This has been one strange year.... Lots of movement on film just not while I'm on stand..... We have 6 different stands in place..... Been playing musical stands too break it up.... Tomorrow I'm leap frogging every 4 hours with a stalk in between stand locations.....

Good stuff fellas. Hope today is a successful day for Team 3! It's still raining a bit here, but should clear up soon. We got skunked last night, but that seemed to be the case all around us. I'm in my #2 stand on Hippie Ridde this morning. Good NW wind blowing and 38 degrees. It'll be a tough hunt with the wet leaves, but I can see a long ways in most directions, so I shouldn't get snuck in on. Good luck fellers, the getting is good!!!

Oh well consistancy is the name of the game... Rained mixed with a little snow all morning, changed stands two times great weather for a slow stalk too the next styand... Hunting clothes weighed about 15 more lbs than when I started lol.... They're in the dryer as we speak and hoping that they dry out for an evening get together with the stand.... My backside has bed sores on it from all this sitting and waiting lol... Tomorrows weather should get them up and moving partly sunny and 52 for a high.... 28 for a low tonight... Hoping they will be moving in the morning... Not much hope for tonight.....

Rain wind came through at last light where I was at. zero deer. My buddy was a couple ridges over and seen numerous does and a heard some grunting. Will use that as a scouting tool!! Going to a stand in the morning that I haven't been to since December!

Spent another deerless afternoon.... Did see a boat load of turkey feeding past me, and then a grey fox showed up and was chaing mice in front of me @ about 15 yards.... Pretty cool too watch and he caught one and sat there and ate it in front of me.... Never did offer me a bite the little bugger.... :smiley_clap: Anyways he never winded me or saw me looking at him the whole time he was around me..... Made me feel pretty good that he didn't wind or bust me..... Especially since I haven't had a deer that close this year......

I've had chances at 2 bucks bigger than the one I already shot just in the past week alone:smiley_depressive: Funny part is no matter where I put Nate(Ohiowhitetails), I have all the bucks close and he sees nothing. He did take a doe last night from the stand I had bucks under me yesterday morning in

Had my best hunt last evening so far. Damn squirrells bout drove me crazy along with dropping acorns. 6pm a tweener buck is making a scrape directly behind me at 80 yards. I stand up and turn around. He begins to walk towards me and I come to full draw. Instead of coming into my shooting lane he makes a left turn and comes right to my treee and stands there. Right below me. At this point I decided I was not going to shoot him. He meandered off and later three does came past. The buck was ear width and 7-9" tines. 8-9 point. Not much mass. Just not want I want and should be great "if" he makes it through. I hope I don't have to make that decision again in the coming weeks because it might turn out different.

Hey, congats on the doe J!

Thanks Jesse and Huck..... Anyways I have the next 12 days off... Got the green light from the boss (both of them lol) and hit the woods this morning... Too say this year has been rough so far is an under statement too the second power.... I've logged a lot of stand time with no deer within range and only a handfull of sightings so far... My buddy got a decent 10 point the second weekend of the season but as with him we're just not seeing the numbers on stand that we're used too.... This morning got into the stand about an hour before daylight and just sat and took everything in and took a little nap lol.... Was scaning the woods at daybreak and then I heard it..... barking dogs and they were down in the swamp..... Not the first time we've heard it this year and for the next 2 hours I listen them running deer down there in the swamp.... Now I know why the sightings have been way down..... Well about 9:00 I hear noise behind me and I'm thinking man I hope it's not them friggin dogs, look too my left and see 2 does working their way too the South of me about 20 yards with a south wind... Perfect I won't get busted lol.... I smoked up last night so I wasn't too worried... Well they moved on through and went into some weeds and were about 40 yards from me by this time.... They were in there for about 10 minutes when the dogs started back up in the swamp... The deer started moving back towards me so I know they were worried about mutt and jeff finding them..... They worked their way north in front of me but not in any shooting lanes.... By this time I'm still not sure if I want to take one yet, I'm almost empty on deer meat and that was on my mind since we haven't been seeing any shooter bucks on stand.... Well they were about 40-50 yards to my northweat and just milling around and feeding when I catch movment too my left.... I turn my head slowly and there she is a good size doe probably a 2.5-3.5 yo momma... She was nervous because of the dogs as well and was scanning the tree line looking for them and every other minute she'd take a step towards me.... about 5 minutes had passed and she'd only moved about 5 yards and I needed anothe 15 for the shooting lane well she picked up the pace and walked and stopped broadside at 15 yards I put the dot on the heart and let it fly.... Hit her a little bit high being that I was sighted in for 20 and didn't compensate for that, but it hit her right lung and the backside of the heart and she spun ran tail down for about 30 yards and just stopped..... Stood there for about 10 seconds wabbled a little then rolled over and fell off her feet too the ground... Kicked a couple of times and that was it.... The other two just looked around like what was that.... They hung around feeding for about 20 minutes and then bounded off when the dogs barking got closer.... Sure enough them dang dogs showed up and took off on their trail barking like friggin beagles on a bunny.... Well I use a tape too measure around the back and behind the shoulder for a rough estimate and she was almost 40" around... So going by the chart that I have she was between 175 and 180 lbs... Good size doe and should put a little dent in the empty freezer.... Sorry for the long post but once I started I couldn't stop :smiley_crocodile:
