Double reed diaphragm. You'll hardly ever see me use any thing else. I bought the haint gobble call at the expo and have toyed with it on a few birds. I have yet to find one giving a shit with that call. Maybe once the hens starting nesting full time and the birds get love sick, I'll have better results.

Man that bird was going crazy! Do you guys normally call that aggressively towards a roosted bird or was it to tame down the hen that was with him? That was some good video.

From going on 5 hunts with Alex that ended in three birds dead two of them right off the roost I would say its two fold. In the unedited version you can see how Alex works him up. Starts out slow and turns the heat up as the Tom gets more worked up. He shuts up sometimes and makes the bird gobble once or twice on his own then gives him what he's looking for, some more cuts and yelps. The other part is the hen. If she opens her mouth he goes after her. Gets her pissed off. Two things will happen at fly down. 1. She's the boss Hen and will come directly to us to whipp Alexs ass with the tom in tow. Or 2. She is a subordinate hen and will shut up.. If she shuts up it allows Alex to work the Tom and get him more and more excited.. This hen shut up and despite being roosted together, when the Tom pitched to us she pitched the other way not wanting any of that hen.
