I'm on season 4. No problems at all. I use it twice a day If I come out of the stand for lunch.. And I hunt almost ever weekend, and 1-2 evenings a week.

Here is a good Idea. How about a "Show Us Your Scent Smoker". I'll get a pic when i get home. I just took it out the truck last night.

Thanks jack. In the video that i put the link to the smoker was turning colors from the heat. I was wondering if the whole smoker would get that black dust on it like a wood stove or a wood burner. I like the Show us your smoker idea can't wait to see em.

The metal changes color because of heat. The outside doesn't get hardly anything but a change of color. The inside gets a black coating. Once a year you'll need to take the torch and heat the rim around the lid as that stuff will build up. But that's easy.

Mine is holding up well. I think its 5 years old, we burn almost a 5 gallon bucket of chips per season. It sits outside alot and does not seem any worse for the wear. Instead of heating mine I use a Stanley knife to scrape the gunk off the edges so the lid will shut.

How do you all go about lighting the smoker? I saw that they used the torch on the video. Just wondering if you guys have came up with better ideas seems like buying torch fuel would get annoying but maybe not.
Thanks.

I'm on my second or third season with the same propane bottle. I also use the torch for other tasks around the house, like heating inserts, or soldering copper tubing. Purchasing a $3 propane bottle is no big deal.

Yeah don't waste your time with anything other than the torch... ran out of fuel last week and I looked like a monkey trying to fugg a football trying to get it lit! Much easier with the torch!
