never thought to look around pines. I know that pine trees change the ph in the soil quite a bit. Its hard to get anything else to grow around a pine.

I have never done any good around pines, I think it's because of the acidic soil.
Two years ago, I picked two dozen under a small group of pines on a golf course. I had never hears or seen them grow there prior!

Glad to see you guys are getting 'em! I looked around for an hour today and only found two. My woods and my neighbor's patch is gonna be too green by the time they pop really good this year I think. I'm gonna have to look elsewhere before long.

Found 7 grays today all in a low point on a N/NE hill. Bitty ones mixed in with the brush almost impossible to see. Let my buddy from Arizona visiting have them to get a taste.

was out for a bit yesterday, didn't see anything. of course that's not unusual for me.
The [places i usually find them are still really wet though. maybe if we get some warm sunny days they'll come up. i might just have to find a different spot though.

This is an excellent year hear in SE Ohio. We were tripping over them last week while chasing after the turkeys. I found a ball cap full just checking the mail.
