My reloads are coming along for the AR. This was shot today using the side of a tree as my rest (ground was TOO wet to lug all my shit).

Anxious to see what this load will do off of bags. Was pleased considering it was a 10 shot group.

Wonder why the double post?

Anyway, I was rained out today...and I am happy. This dude needs a day to get rejuvenated. Well, and get some scheduling and estimates done. Last three weeks have kicked my ass!

The wife and I hit limit on yellow perch friday up at the lake in 2 hours. That was 120 fish equalling out to 31 lb. for the boat. The friend that took us has a full freezer so we got to keep it all.

I posted a few days back that I lost the farm I have hunted for the last three years because the land owners BIL decided to take up bow hunting. But enough about that. I stopped on my way home today to talk to the trustee of a very nice piece of property my best friend has hunted pretty much all his life and I have eyeballed for a long time. My best friend gave it up to hunt the neighboring property and his brother took over hunting it for the past two years. Now his brother has decided he doesn't want to hunt anymore and told my best friend, his brother, that he is giving it up. I talked to my friend and he said he is perfectly content where he is at and I should strike while the iron is hot and talk to the trustee. He told me this last night and I was on the trustees front porch at 3:30 today. I have known the LO and the trustee all my life and was feeling good about my chances of getting in there. So to make a long story a little bit shorter, sorry it has gotten as long as it has, I now have permission to hunt the 100 acre farm that has approximately 40 acres pasture, 20 acres of alfalfa, and 40 acres of hardwoods and locust trees. I can't wait to get out and walk this property! I AM STOKED! YEAH BABY!

That's great Don, glad to hear it! Is it any closer to home than the property you lost?

It's just about the same distance, but its a much nicer farm though. I am gonna try to get out this weekend and get some cameras out. Plus it will be cool to be hunting bordering properties with my buddy. The fact that he has hunted it so long is gonna be a plus. He told me he pretty much knows the land like the back of his hand and will help me as much as he can. Milo knows my buddy I am talking about and my buddy feels like he owes me for all I have done for him lately. I didn't feel like he owed me anything but I sure do appreciate him giving me the tip about the property opening up and giving me the inside scoop about past deer movement and such.

Good deal. Sounds like a great buddy! Not many people give up good hunting!

Yeah. He gave the farm up a couple years ago so his brother could hunt it and moved to the neighboring farm. Now his brother doesn't want to hunt any more and my buddy is happy where he is so that opened the door for me. I couldn't get to the trustees house fast enough today. I thought 3:00 would never come. Haha

Awesome stuff Don! Happy happy happy....

Congrats on acquiring more hunting land and good luck this fall on it! Had your friend had much success there or killed/seen any slobs when he hunted it?

I pulled into the driveway and found these two little turds playing in our yard this morning. We have 3 fawns that are seen regularly around the house these days and that's TOO good, IMO.
