Woods are super super quiet. Can here every critter move.

We have sustained 10 to 15 mph winds with gusts up to 25. Barometer is dropping. looks like a small front coming through from the north west. Probably get out later.

Tomorrow should be pretty good as well.

In the creek bottom. Winds steady but not unbearable yet. Later in the hurricane winds I'm gonna relocate a stand for the boys that wil hopefully prove fruitful on the 9 point their after.

No sightings here yet. Quiet walk in. I'm close to the bedroom so I better see action.

Kinda Ironic if you think about it.

You want wind when you are going in to cover the sound you are making, but when you are set up, you want the wind to die down so you can hear.
Want rain to wash away scent and want it to stop when you are set up.
Want the leaves on the trees for concealment, but want them to fall so you can see better.

Oh so true.

Shake it off Jake. I am today also. Shoulda bloodied an arrow last night but only muddied it. Had patches of grass in picked bean field with mental notes of yardages. I was east of them in edge of woods. Shadow from woods took away my visual on yardage markers. No light on my pins but I could see them clearly. Just enough shadow on ground had to guess the yardage. Guessed 20. Should a guessed 30. Big doe too. Pissed because i know better. Still legal shooting light doesn't always mean I should shoot. Thankful for clean miss.

Quiet so far and nothing moving yet.... Hopefully that changes here shortly.... Although I did hear a yote before daylight let lose after an ambulance went by... Close but not close enough lol.... Clear sky on the walk in plenty of stars and the moon was bright..... No flashlight needed.....

Moved from the stand to a ground blind to try and get out of the wind. You know when your bow is hanging from the bow hanger at a 45 degree angle the wind is blowing pretty hard.

Wind is supposed to drop to under 20mph after 6pm. I'd be in that stand between 6:30-7:12!

That's what I'm seeing as well. Should start to die down as the afternoon goes along. I hope they're right. I can only hunt this afternoon and right now I'm not feeling very confident about the odds of good movement. BUT you have to take the time you're given in the woods and make due. You can't kill 'em on the couch.

No luck finding my buddies buck this morning. He is pretty confident now that he hit him in the shoulder. I am debating whether to hunt tonight or not.
