Well, here in the SW we have no rut or very low deer numbers in my area. I drove around for 45 minutes in prime AG and country side before coming hope this morning just wanting to see a buck dogging a doe or running across the road on a mission. Nada...Zilch....NOT EVEN A DEER SIGHTING! WTH?!? This is the 3rd time I've done this same thing over the last two to three weeks and I've yet to see a deer!?! Most of the corn is off but still prolly 20-30% still standing but c'mon, of all the cut corn, beans(picked or not),hayfields and huge yards and still not a deer? That's is disheartening....:smiley_confused_vra

I hunted the last 5 AM's and only seen one small buck. I haven't seen many rubs and scrapes in my area either. Cams prove there are several bucks around. They also prove that there are a few does. I don't know but its been a strange beginning of November in my area so far!

My last 7 sits have produced one deer sighting. Its been a terribly slow rut for me as well. Slowest I have ever seen. Haven't even seen much driving around either. Only found a handful of rubs and scrapes.

There are not many rubs or scrapes where I've been hunting this year. If I hadnt actually seen what I've seen I would be a bit bummed just by the sign. I think our big boys are locked down right now. I saw some does and a couple of little bucks this morning. All early. When I got back to my truck I saw a shooter locked down with a doe out in a cut cornfield. No idea if he's one I've already seen or not, but he's nice! They will be back searching before long on the property, I hope.

At least up here in NEO at my spots, my observations are in line with bigten05. Yesterday I saw the same six does I have seen all summer and fall still together. Last week they were harassed by a 4pt in front of me and wanted nothing to do with him and stuck together. One of them has to start getting hot soon, hopefully.

I am in NE OH as well and haven't seen anything. I got skunked yesterday (sat sunup till 12 then 2 till dark). I am getting skunked as of this message today and I haven't left the woods.

Switched stands at lunch time both days to change up what sides of the property I am hunting. Hope it breaks loose tomorrow...

In my experience scrapes and rubs mean nothing right now. Big bucks are cruising looking for does and Id say now and for the next 5 days are when the majority of the does get bred in my area.... Buck sightings are slim to none. I watched a 130-135 buck locked down with a doe last night.... I was 80 yards from them and they didnt have a care in the world...The doe was bedded and the buck literally stood over her for the last 15 minutes of light. until I couldnt see them anymore...

Im not saying you cant kill a good buck rt now in my area, because there are always going to be a new buck cruising here and there..I just think these next 5 days are the roughest..again, in my area..

IMO October28-Nov 3rd and Nov 10-18 are the best times to be in the woods

I agree Zach! Lockdown's a bitch right now! I don't understand why I'm not seeing any deer movement on my way to work and on my way home! Its like the aliens beamed them all up and are doing a study....How to frustrate a deer hunter! lmao

I live on the northern edge of Warren county (north side of Caesar creek ) less than a mile from the green county line. Ea morning I drive up to my office in greene county (Beavercreek). I drive thru a lot of farm country around my home until I get to Bellbrook. I have been watching the fields every morning and evening going and coming. Yesterday morning I saw a little hat racked buck cruising across a weedfield kinda limping a bit. Nothing yesterday evening. Nothing this morning either but this evening coming home around 530 I saw a nice big bodied deer on a hilltop just walking along, then I saw 3 deer a mile or down the road out in a grass field walking and then on Wilson rd where I live I saw 3 separate deer in a cut corn field. Most deer I have seen anywhere lately. Hoping this bodes well for my morning hunt. Seems like they were active tonite anyway.

Or Ric maybe they all took a ride down the river on the Douche Canoe.rotflmao But really it is pretty slow in my area also.Had some cruising Monday and Tuesday and pretty slow since. My buddys down in Vinton county said they are just getting started down there. But their are always does going to get bred the first week of Nov and last week of Oct.The rut is a several month process and just have to be where the action is.This could be one of those years where Thanksgiving week could be really good.

100% agree with this. Hunting a locked down buck is hard unless you can spot and stalk...

Once again watched does with fawns in tow tonight. No bucks to be seen. Just seems odd. These aren't my "scrub" properties. I am hunting my honey holes right now with hopes of catching a cruising buck. Going to possibly try a different property tomorrow. Sit in a pinch point and see what happens. Might have to buy another doe tag tonight just to ensure I fill the freezer. Plus if it is slow and a good sized doe comes along, I doubt I will be able to hold back. lmao
