Had my best hunt of the year this morning. Didn't pack a lunch today but wish I would have. I cant go without food. I will be back out soon. I don't like the wind but I don't get enough time to hunt the rut to not be hunting.

Rolled out to the property to see what was going on out there and see if anybody was hunting it today. Didn't see any deer out and about and nobody hunting. Drove around the block on my way home to grab the .22 to go shoot some squirrels and seen 3 bucks squaring off with a yote on city property.

Printing off my fur tag and going out to shoot squirrels the rest of the day and maybe see if I get a yote in the process. Then switching over to coon and yote after dark ;)

Good luck, Mike! I've been pulling for you all season buddy.

Don't believe him Mike. Ric said that is not what he has been pulling all season. As a matter of fact, Ric said he has been pulling it his whole life.:smiley_crocodile:

Hit is this morning with a decoy. Didn't help. Didn't hurt either though. Had a doe bleating loudly at one point and only 100yds away or so. She was on a fence row and showed herself a couple times but never came out or at least not in my direction. Decided to get down, come home to grind burger, and head back out this afternoon. So I pack my stuff up and I was stuffing my tie off rope in the pocket of my HSS vest when. . . . I turn around to see a buck cruising thru nose toward the ground and on a mission. Probably his second rack and he went and busted it all up. lol

I was ready to get down and hesitantly did so. Home now. Ate breakfast again, followed up with lunch. Ready to grind burger and hopefully have time to power nap before going back out.

Good luck out there and be safe in this wind today.

Seen four does then a six point with a bad limp. He feed along the edge of the woods like the does and they ended up on the calm side of the woods around 900. Had to move the decoy so it could be seen better after all that. Froze our arses off and if the wind calm a little were going back this afternoon.

Set up in the blind. Fitst time seriously hunting out of one. Not sute what to expect. Might wotk better if the dumbasses on the next property south would stop sooting tanerite.
Adam is down the hill to the south eest of me in a creek bottom. Convinced him to put the .22 away and getn the bow out.
