. Just got settled in. All ghillied & smoked up. Wind is even behaving.

Kevin, those r too small to be loggin lol, wth is that?!?

Thanks Jake. I should've manned up like Taylor said and came up here this morning but I was a bit hungover. Lol

Nutting wrong with that lol!!

Well I dusted a doe tonight. She came in at last light and was 10 yards from the base of my tree. I had my bow hung and release in my pocket. No intention in shooting her, but it was either shoot or jump on her back. Lol. She piled up within 50 yards. Meat in the freezer!

Good stuff Ron, congrats! Next time put the knife in the teeth and drop on her!!:pickle:

Stick with it man! Sometimes its a grind, but we all know it's worth it in the end. Keep that Confidence up

It's all good Gordo, I have come to expect it certain times of the year. Priority #1 is complete and that's one in the freezer, everything from here on out is just for fun! I never have and never will have a problem hunting and not seeing deer as this has been the norm growing up in north central Ohio. I used to get my fix as an eager youngin hunting by hunting allegheny national forest in PA, but that quickly changed too. These days, I am just happy to be in the woods!

At bedubs in Ironton on our way home from the wives grandma's funeral in West Virginia. Hitting the woods all week starting on the morning. Looking forward to it. Can't wait!

I'm turning in my man rut card this afternoon. I hate deer huntin'

We just drove around looking for deer today and had a blast. Saw 60 some deer today including a 135" 8 and 145" 10. I was tired, sore from working yesterday, and generally displeased with my time in the woods. My heart is just not in it like it used to be.

Hated how late I hit the woods. Came in after morning hunt to grind deer burger which had been on ice for a week. It seemed to be aged just about perfect. Grinding took longer than anticipated. Didn't make it into the stand until 415. Ugh. Got settled in and within 15min had seen 7! One was a wall of white but couldn't tell as he was chasing with another buck and 3 does were running for their lives away from them. I have no idea on score. I can tell you he was one of those deer when you see him you KNEW you would shoot him. Left binoculars and camera alone and grabbed the bow. There was no mistake he was a shooter. The other was a decent deer. Probably 100-120" but only half a rack. Couldn't tell if grew that way or busted it off. All total I saw 9 deer in an hour and 45min. Three were bucks. Oh yeah! Seeking/chasing is in full swing in my area!

Finally saw old 'handsome' on the hoof for the first time this year around 5pm. No shot. Oh so close.

Better recap in my hunt log

Mason and I sat it out this morning. We went tonight to the same stand he killed from yesterday. We saw turkeys, a cat, a rabbit, and heard what sounded like 100 coyotes. No deer sighted. We didn't booger up the place too bad yesterday as there were a lot of trail cam pics through the night, and even some while we were waiting to track Mason's deer yesterday! Still, we saw nothing.

Headed back up to Fayette tomorrow.

After the close call with the 9 (I was at full draw briefly waiting for that next fatal step the he didn't take) I had an even bigger chocolate 10 come in behind me in the thicket. He was within 40 yards, but never left the thick stuff. He was nose to the ground behind a doe. She could've led him my way, but she cut over the hill behind me and it was game over.

I was in the neighborhood.

My hunt was ruined this evening by some guy running his barking dog all through the thicket to my North, and a hunter to the property to the South getting out of vehicle and walking by at 4 pm. At it again tomorrow.

Set up in the blind. Fitst time seriously hunting out of one. Not sute what to expect. Might wotk better if the dumbasses on the next property south would stop sooting tanerite.
Adam is down the hill to the south eest of me in a creek bottom. Convinced him to put the .22 away and getn the bow out.

We each saw one doe. probably the same one.

Another worthless weekend in the books, glad its over. Cant wait till next weekend to get skunked again.
