I figured it would be ok to show a clip of him. They always look better when you get to see them turn that big set of horns a bit. He just started coming to this corn pile and it doesn't appear he likes to share. I hope he tries to take over complete ownership of it!

Ben, I agree 100%! I want to shoot him every time we go out, but I'm rooting for him too. This deer lives on some unbelievably heavily pressured ground. How anything survives is beyond me!

He may be Chad, I'm trying to be conservative... :)

I plan to hunt tomorrow evening. Mason will be at his Grandpa's. I asked him again if he would be OK with me shooting "his" deer should I get the opportunity. He said, "Heck yes. Do you know what a load that would be off my shoulders?" :) That kid cracks me up. I bet he'd shoot the first set of antlers to come by if this deer was no longer an option. Then again, the other one may still be around too...

I know you guys are....but I just need to remind you that this is one hell of a buck you guys are pursuing....hunt that sucker as hard as you can from now until you either get him or season goes out. This is a great chance on a deer or a couple deer that you may never see again in either of your lifetimes....don't get burnt out...stay positive and hang with it...this time of year they get desperate for food. Not sure why Im saying all this to you Brock, because I know you know it already....Im just putting myself in your shoes...could not imaging having that caliber of a buck out there and still having a buck tag in my pocket...I don't think I would sleep at night...and during the day I couldn't concentrate on anything but figuring him out. Enjoy this time and chase while you have it right in front of you and Mason. Good luck to both of you!

Thanks, and we are in full speed ahead in the pursuit! I am rushing out of here now to dump corn.... It ain't quite hunting a scrape line, but it's our best bet at this point.

I started a corn pile in 2 locations around Christmas. He popped up at the first one on new years eve, where i suspected he would. Its on a thick ridge where a lot of deer are staying. He just showed up at the pile in the vid on the 6 th. Not a regular at all but it is a a field corner that sees a lot of deer traffic. Weve seen bucks every time we have hunted it but once. Now that hes found it, i hope be becomes a regular. We get in and out of that corner without bumping deer, and as far as i can tell, weve never been picked off in 6 or 7 sits.

Kinda hard to explain really. There is a 100 acre wheat field with a mix of habitats on three sides. More open area on the fourth. Crp, open hardwoods, and incredibly thick hardwoods. Its got it all, really. The reason i quit hunting this property years ago was pressure. Now, that isnt an issue. The wimps are staying warm at home. :)

I pulled a card while dumping corn a little bit ago. HOLY CRAP! He has taken ownership of the pile. He will not allow any other deer on it. I've got video of him for an hour running off every other deer that comes around! :) He didn't get there until 8 last night, hoping the cold puts him there earlier tomorrow!

Holy mackeral! Well it definitely is Mason's turn now that Diablo put the smackdown on a buck. It would be hard to sleep at night knowing he's out there taunting you guys!!

I lost a lot of sleep over this guy when I saw him the first time. Mason had told me all about it for almost a year before I knew what he looked like. Now that things are getting interesting again, I can't get my mind off of it...again.
