Basketball was cancelled and the wife wanted to tan, so we went to the gym. Worked on abs, shoulders, and cardio. If I go tomorrow, that's 4 days in the gym in one week! That's a new record!

For you guys trying to go light on the carbs, Cracker Barrel has a great low carb menu. We went tonight and my meal was 12.99 and it was a 10 ounce ribeye, salad, green beans, and turnip greens. 9 carbs total. I had no idea they even had it...thought I would share.

Low carb diets just make me hungrier. Calories, calories, calories folks!!! Carbs are your friend. If you eat low carb diets once you hit your target wieght and start eating them again you'll gain it back. I've been there and done that one several times.

Todays work out.

Shoulder presses (Standing with no support. It really works your core).
10 minutes on the elliptical
Four circuits of lateral raises, reverse shrugs, incline abs, frontal dumbbell raises, and front shrugs.
Two sets of standing dumb bell presses.

I'm not feeling to good today. I've been fighting the flu and my whole family is sick. I think it's catching me.

Headed to the gym again after work tonight. Once I get this workout done, I'll post up what I'm doing for comparison and suggestions. I feel really good this week. I haven't had pop since Tuesday, been drinking a ton of water, and actually eating breakfast. I really think the glucosamine supplements help with the soreness I get from sitting at my desk all day. I hope it's not a placebo effect...

Jesse I am thinking NO because it keeps working after you stop taking it. Its not like a junk supplement that you have to keep taking it to see results. I am not sure of the time period that it stays in your system.

I take glucosomine, but I've always taken it as a preventive measure against arthritis and bad joints as it runs in my family. Why are you guys taking it?

Did 4 miles in 34:16 after work. Feeling good. Time should start to come off. Now that I feel I have a little stamina, I'll start at a higher speed and not worry so much about hiting the wall.

Just ran for 15 minutes and stretched....I am a long ways from running 2 miles in under 16 minutes...hard to believe that was just 3 years ago!

At the gym now. Have burnt 850 calories so far between the Reactive Motion trainer and the treadmill. As soon as my lady is done tanning I'm outta here.

I don't know about calories burnt, but I split a buttload of firewood yesterday. Well. . . the splitter attached to the Bobcat did. I did handle a bunch though. Filled up my 2.5yd bucket twice, dumped, and stacked by the wood burner. Then I split and stacked some more. After this, I ate some potato soup and went out cleaning up some parking lots and humping salt bags. The biceps and forearms feel bigger today. Probably in my head. Today the cold was brutal but I cleared about a third of the neighbor's one acre pond with the four wheeler and plow. Not a real workout, but the cold sucked. Then I came in and told the Mrs I was going coyote hunting. Hiked through some decent drifts about 1/2 to 3/4 mile in and back out. Not the workout you guys are getting, but I feel this is what keeps me healthy.

Sounds like you got a "Circuit Workout" which is really efficient and effective.
