Out for the first time since before Thanksgiving. Brand new ground blind collapsed with 3 broken poles despite a support pole in the middle. Just salt in the festering wound of this dismal season. Grabbed a chair and picked a spot on the ground in an over grown field. It is a pretty spot to close out the season.

Good luck everyone.

After a debacle last week of hitting a deer on my way hunting and then to get busted by a doe at last light as I was drawing I am out to salve the wounds. Same spot as last week.

A little turkey sign

Kicked up a couple out of their beds on my way in. I should have been out this morning, but with working till 2 in the morning and all the cold weather I figured my phone was going to be blown up. Not the case though. Oh well so goes life.

Had one shed buck come in. That was it.

Got blown at as I switched cards on the way out in the darkness.

One more try tomorrow. Hope the weather plays out like forecasted and the bucks are on their feet.

Oh, and those two bucks from last night? They returned 20 minutes after I left. Playing me like the fat kid at lunch.

Dangit! You guys are all close! I'm so jealous. If we don't get a bunch of snow, I'm gonna have to go to baseball instead of hunting tomorrow evening...can't stand the thought of it....and I love baseball!

Not sure where all the deer went but I got skunked again last night. Heading out to just walk around in the ghillie suit until it starts raining. If nothing else at least I'll get some scouting done.

Walked around in the ghillie doin some still hunting/scouting, had two does at about 50 yards through some thick stuff but tried and failed to get closer because to get to them I had to circle to where I couldn't see them and I lost them. I now understand why its so hard for me to see deer right now, there are other people baiting back in the thicker part of the river bottom and there is plenty of browse for them in there so they have no reason to move much in daylight. If I'm still hunting there next year I'll try to find a good spot away from other people's stands down there. Looks like my tag is officially eaten.

Snowing pretty good north of sunbury. Tracks in the snow show they should be bedded in a spot conducive to come by tonight.
