Well last Friday I decided too drop everything that was going on, hook up the boat and head out too a lake close by where I live. Guilford lake which is a 9.9 hp limit but my electric trolling motor will do a couple laps around it if needed..... Backed it in tied it too the dock, parked the truck and off I went.... I had a good idea of what I wanted too fish and headed there first.... Hit the first dock pitching a creature bait called a beaver and within in three casts had the first one in the boat.... Good start....

It wasn't the biggest of the day but not far from it... Here's about 20-25 docks in that stretch that I fished and caught 10 keepers with a couple of dinks as well, spent two hours pickin apart the water and structure around those docks and if I missed something it wasn't by much lol....

After that stretch I went back past the boat ramp too another stretch of docks leading up too the ramp..... Didn't do as well but had two fish a shade bigger than the pictured one.... All in all a good 4 hour get away for the short while I was there....
I was supposed too go prefish for an up coming tourney this coming weekend Sunday, but Friday evening a buddy called me and said he needed help working on his truck too get it back on the road..... So Saturday and Sunday I spent I his garage or at parts stores picking up parts..... Alternator, universals and rear pinion seal, tranny filter and fluid as well as oil change.... Pulled the alternator, pulled the drive shaft and pinion seal and headed too the parts store, they had everything but the seal... Headed 25 minutes too another store and they had it on hand....

Back too the garage by 4 and everything went in easily except the last cap on the rear universal lol..... Figures right.... Broken roller pins.... Only the second time for that too happen too me in all these damn years lol.... Oh well, alternator was in,belts on and tranny filter and fluid in, pinion seal in and serviced..... Sunday's another day..... Sunday morning after having breakfast with my wife, off too the garage again lol universal back in inno time and down of jacks and out he driveway for the trial too see if his vibration was gone.... It was, shifts good, and no alt light coming on driving down the road lol.... Life is good..... 200 in parts and 10-15 in has and it's road worthy again....

His morning I was contemplating headin back too Guilford lake but that damn retaining was was beckoning me too work on it.... So I leveled one side that was the driest and got all the rock outta it and spread the grass seed and then covered it with straw.... Watered the heck outta it and now I'm sitting on the porch watching a front moving in and enjoying a tumbler of Tennessee honey..... Life is good.....

You sure are making the best of it.

I've never fished Guilford, but hunted waterfowl there quite a few times. Looks like the bass were cooperating around those docks. Were the lily pads up pretty good by now?

Didn't see any lily pads at either part of the lake I was on Dick.... I know they're there as I have fished some over the years.....

The beach area was where I was Dick.... There's a ramp right there with ample parking and lots of docks in that area too provide cover for those green backs....

Highland town is another sleeper lake as you can catch tons of fish but most are smaller with an occasional 5-7 lb being caught.....

Zeppernick was another until it was drained a few times due too weak dam and an over flow pipe issue a few years back....

Fished a tourney on Guilford Wednesday evening,Mathis is the same lake I fished the previous Friday and had a great 4 hours of fishing.... Not so much Wednesday evening.... lol.... The fishing gods didn't look favorably down on us lol..... Guilford has a slot limit and you can have 4 bass between 12-14" and one over 20".... We had two short fish and caught one keeper right at he end of it.... A far cry from the last trip that's for sure..... We had one boat with a 20.5" large mouth and a couple 12-14" fish and second place had 2 fish 12-14".... 7 boats showed up and looks like the next weeks tourney will be about the same # of boats as well as the location as the river is going too be horrendous for the next few weeks with all this rain.....

Not much progress on the front yard other than getting the grass seed in and that's been about it.... Been walking the dog everyday that's not been raining in the Morning try too do 2.5-3 miles each time and have been averaging 3-4 days a week so far.....

Have a tourney tomorrow on mosquito lake up in Trumbull county and its calling for rain most of the day so it'll be a rain gear kind of day.... My buddy prefish end it last Sunday and hopefully he fish haven't moved out from the area they had luck at..... Wish us luck lol this weather has sure put a damper on things lol.....

Nice to meet you J,had a feeling that you were going to have a great day fishing. Your fishing partners were first class men.

Yeah, they're a great bunch of guys that I've fished with for a lot of years lol... We've all fished different circuits and got tired of some of the BS that comes with it and formed our own little circuit and it's an invitation only club voted in by the members.... No drama and what you see is what you got lol.... We have a blast as you saw today lol.... Thanks again for stopping by Bob....

Be safe in your travels and enjoy yourself (as it sounds you are.) Tell everyone the truth: You are missing Mingo because you heard there was a good chance I was going to show up. :smiley_blackeye:
