The Adventures of Bo and Cole

Made eye contact with the woodcock Ellie pointed today

It said, “Your dog found me, that’s cute. Now watch this.”

The dogs tore up the woods tonight during a quick hunt after work. I may have had my best shooting of the season which paired nicely with some of the better dog work this woodcock season.

Bo and Ellie pinned down this running bird

Bo with a nice point on this single

Ellie pointed this single on the edge of the cut to round out the limit

The dogs and I have been doing our thing the last couple of days. I have had great dog work and I haven’t been able to pay it off.

The first miss was a single bird Bo pointed.

I missed three more times on points Ellie had, pretty sure she wanted to fire me.

Ellie locked up on another woodcock and Bo had a great back. Great dog work and the woodcock lived for us to chase it another day thanks to habitat interference.

Ellie put another one in front of me and I was able to connect through the cover. It only takes one pellet!

This one buzzed the tower, luckily I was able to connect on the second shot.

Thanks for following along

Looking for a central Ohio vet recommendation for the removal of a fatty lipoma off of my American Brittany’s Achilles tendon. Recently moved back up to Ohio and the vet who tested the mass is in the state we previously lived.

Ideal vet is someone who has performed similar work before and is familiar with sporting dogs.

It seems like a tricky removal due to its location on the tendon to my untrained eye. I want to be sure we don’t get a botch job and have to pay for it down the line.

Thanks!
