That's awesome you guys are getting back at it again. Best of luck to you guys! Make sure to range the distance! Haha. Also he will be tickled to death to know that he returned and is back in daylight.

I will beg him to take the xbow if he wants to take his compound. He shoots it well, but good grief, it's windy as heck and we'll be on the ground! His little arrahs drift badly with a little wind, too slow, etc. I'm sure he'd like to have that shot over, but I imagine he'll be just fine grabbing those horns, regardless of what put 'em on the ground. Hopefully, he'll have plenty of time to get that first "bow" kill out of the way.

Don't know where you are located but are you guys getting as bad of winds as here in the NE? We got about a steady 15-20mph wind but been gusting up to 40 every couple minutes.

Hope it works out for Mason this evening. It's pretty windy here, but seems like the kind of weather that would get the deer moving early!

That blows my mind. I cannot believe that deer came back, especially that quick. Man I hope that little shit sticks him tonight.

It just goes to show the personality difference in deer. I had a very similar experience opening evening with my target deer.... although I never shot. He was at 15 yards for 12 min..... and he turned and walked straight away..... and he is now gone... hasn't been back since... this is about 30 seconds before he spun and walked away.

Does came in, from downwind. Stared at us for a while. Ate apples, left. It started raining hard, so we left. If he came in we couldnt shoot. Didnt need the temptation. Next time maybe.

Thanks for the update Brock! He is very protected of those apples and doesn't want any other heavy eaters in on his stash! Hope you can kill him thru his love of apples here pretty soon before the first doe becomes ripe!
