If I could figure out how to post pics on here I'd share the pic of my first buck with a bow I killed last year. He wasn't much bigger than that but it's one of my best hunting memories!

I bet each of us can probably remember exact detail of how we shot and killed our first buck, down to the temperature, exact time and the surroundings.

Thanks guys, now I have more time to go shoot some tree rats and fish :smiley_bril: and start scouting more public land for next year lol

One suggestion I always have is go sit a stand that seems crazy. Find those spots that tweak your interest, but not enough to hang a stand. Hunt some place you would not normally hunt. And do it all during the next 3-4 weeks. You never know the quality of intel you might gather and you have nothing to lose.

That's close to the size of my first one. Mine was pretty even on both sides. I remember shooting him like it was yesterday and it will always be a good memory. I was in a stand and right at sunrise a few doe started coming in. I remember thinking "wait, maybe a buck is following them". Sure enough, he came right behind them a few seconds later and I saw antlers, aimed and shot. When I found him a half hour or so later I remember thinking there's no way that's the same deer I shot- the one I saw was WAY bigger lol. First time I experienced "ground shrinkage" too haha.

Off to the woods to hold down some leaves from blowing away in this wind lol. Got all my cams up and running earlier today so now I just wait and see what happens.

Good luck to everybody else going out this evening!

Maybe I'm just getting old and forgetting but I don't remember a fall with this many windy days in a row. Seems it has been 15+mph everyday for the past couple weeks. This wind needs to go away lol.
