So my trusty 1997 isuzu rodeo finally crapped out on me. I had to break down and buy a new daily driver. My new job requires alittle longer commute so I got a gas saver. Don't bust my balls dudes I did my best to mix sport, fuel economy, and family efficiency with a low budget. Getting 35mpg right now with it. I demanded a 6 speed stick as well......that was the only way I was getting in a car.

I feel you on the commute requiring a fun vehicle. I have a 55 mile commute and drive a 07 Caddy CTS-V. It's a 6 speed manual and I get about 19 mpg if I'm playing nice.

I have a feeling that's not very often Joe lol.....

You would be correct. Lol. Buying a 400 hp car and not driving her like she's meant to be driven is like marrying a woman and not screwing her brains out so she's tight for the next guy.

TOO good? My wife loves her 2004 GMC Envoy. 155,000 miles. Gas mileage sucks, but she doesn't drive much. Plus, it has been paid off for awhile. I am fortunate my wife doesn't want something new and sporty. Then again, she does have a 62 Nova. Lol

All this vehicle talk and I finally got to do something I haven't done my entire life: dress up a vehicle with some aftermarket parts. I was in company vehicles for the last decade and it meant I had very little choice in what additions we made to vehicles other than tires. Today I ordered Mastercraft Courser MXTs and a black brush guard for the truck. Tomorrow I am ordered a topper with roof rack. I have a light bar for the brush guard already and some LED lights for the bed. I'm stoked about getting everything on it and having a custom fit vehicle that really matches my needs. For me, that's too good!

Awesome Jesse! Nothing looks better than an extended cab truck with a topper on it! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm too much of a pussy to get myself in situations where I could justify a winch! LOL

I priced A.R.E. and Leer toppers and decided on the Leer. Saved about a $100, but got better service from that dealer. My truck is a daily driver, but it needs to support my outdoor lifestyle. I can put the topper on in October and take it off in April. It'll allow me to keep all my gear in my truck, keep it dry, and provide some safety. The roof rack will let me haul our canoe or kayaks on top when we go camping. It's a bit of a pricey accessory, but I can finance it via my mileage reimbursement and it'll easily pay for itself just on our Missouri trip.
