Speaking of sharpening... I bought a Timberline sharpener a while back. Kinda pricey but nice and compact and works really well.

Now that looks nice.... Where'd you pick that up?

I have the same sharpener and I have a husqvarna 455 rancher 20" bar and a Poluan wild thing with a 18"bar and a stihl farm boss that I use of my dad's I have used the dolmar saws and think I will buy one when the next saw dies of mine unless someone wants to get rid of there 455 rancher lolThanks for the input. I went tonight and looked at a stihl 311 and 361. The 361 has a better feel to it and it will take up to a 24" bar but i typically only run 20". I like the idea of not 'maxing' the saw out from the get go. I do believe i will buy it this weekend.
Speaking of sharpening we bought one of these about four years ago.its a timber tuff electric model. We keep a tally of the chains we shsrpen. Between dad myself and his two friends we have done over 100. The sharpener has more than paid for itself.
You've never had oiler issues with your 455?I have the same sharpener and I have a husqvarna 455 rancher 20" bar and a Poluan wild thing with a 18"bar and a stihl farm boss that I use of my dad's I have used the dolmar saws and think I will buy one when the next saw dies of mine unless someone wants to get rid of there 455 rancher lol

I've had it in the shop twice after I couldn't seem to keep it working and apparently they can't keep it oiling either.Ok I have 2012 model have you made sure everything is clean and it shouldn't be hard to fix it

The dealer I got my saw from closed shop about 5 years ago.
To what? What's that have to do with the oiler issue?Maybe that's your answer...

Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue, so that tells me there's some sort of manufacturer defect. I still don't see what your statement has to do with my saw issues, I never took it to the dealer I got it from to have that issue fixed. It's an easy fix, for someone that knows what they are doing. Had it been fixed the first time, you'd be happy with the saw. But you got bad service and are now upset with the saw. Doesn't matter...it is what it is now.
