Atta boy John! You guys stay in Ohio and just have cabin fever or what?

BIL and a few other family friends are headed south to the beaches if South Carolina next week, for a week. Wish I had more vacation time to make the trip, but not sure how I feel about mixing sand and a camper. Stuff gets everywhere!

They dropped next Weds/Thursday lows to 33&35*, which still won't freeze pipes inside but now I may just hold off another week or so to dewinterize. All depends on how nice it is going to be today and tomm I guess.

Ah, we stayed in Ohio. Hunting club has som property in Danville, so while Levi was on break we loaded up and got out for a couple. Since it was just the two of us I didn't dewinterize, but just grabbed one of the water jugs and took with us.

I agree with the sand, we have done some camping in northern Michigan and out on cape cod. The stuff does get everywhere but, I bought it to use and I'm not letting mud or sand stop me from going places I want to go.

Heck ya John, bet that was a nice break.

I have no issues with exposing the camper to sand, it gets used/abused much worse at BG tractor pulls, just the thought of cleaning sand out of it for 6months does not sound fun lol. I am not a huge fan of sand to start with, and would prefer to have a bigger shower and H2O tank and gray tank space to deal with accordingly.

Don't be bro. Think about the ATV, for the same price you can have a great camping setup. Only u know which u would use more and associated costs/storage to own. You have a HOA or just not enough room in the drive to store one? If room, think about a pop up.

I have the room on the side of the house. Getting it in and out bc of the way the neighbors park is a different story.

Ahh gotcha. Would you need to be on their land to back in/pull out? If not, then why can't you have a civil conversation letting them some things to need to change if they are on your land or are impacting how you use it?

I decided to dewinterize and give everything a functionality test this AM. So far so good, last items are to make sure electric h2o heater is working and then drain the system and refill with bleach mixture to sanitize. Getting ready to start raining so slideout is open to clean the roof off and check for leaks. Oldest 2 boys lent a hand doing the work and are chomping at the bit to get out prior to Memorial Day. A trip to Findlay state park will prolly take place in next few weeks. Then need to do bearings and seals and check brake settings. After that she'll be ready to roll for the summer:pickle:

Added a PT30C Surge Protector to the arsenal today. Will be glad to have that piece of mind this year. Our camper battery doesn't seem to be functioning. Even running a light or two and radio it drains within an hour or so. Gonna pull it and get it tested, if it's bad then will need to get that replaced as well.

The wife went out and inventoried everything and restocked paper plates, towels, etc. Won't be long boys!

Great investment DJK!

You look at going to 2, 6V golf cart batteries if you have to replace the battery? After using some for the TOO outing and BG tractor pulls, I'll be making the upgrade here in the next 2 months. HUGE improvement when boondocking. Something else to think about is the charger that came with the camper. Most won't reach the amps/voltage needed to charge up a 12V in short timing, more of a trickle charger. Do you keep it plugged in while in storage? If not, then the CO detector and other phantom draws will drain it in short order.

I just need to find the best deal on some Trojan 6V's. If you start looking and find some 220AH+, let me know, or I'll share here too for future reference.

Whats goin on all? I know been a while, but work is rapidly killing me. Anyway I made an investment into the camper for when we do get to use it later this year. I bought the Steadyfast system, and holy crap does it ever work!!! After I installed it I gave it the ol shake test with the system loose. With the slide outs out and stabilizers down, I got about 3-4in of side to side movement out of the front and about 2-3in out of the rear. I tightened up the 3 wing nuts and shook it again and only got mabie 1/2" of movement out of both front and rear. Guys this system works!!! Only took about 1.5-2hrs to install and directions are very clear! It even comes with a drill bit to drill the holes in the frame. I give it five stars!
