Resurrecting an old thread here.
Last night a buddy and I attended the live recording of the Meateater podcast at The Funny Bone in Columbus. It was excellent. The venue, the guests, the topics discussed... All just flat out excellent and I would do it again for sure. Great experience. Steve Rinella was there of course, and his guests were Janis Putellis, Ryan Callahan, Mark Kenton, and Keving Murphy. At the end of the show, it was especially cool listening to Kevin Murphy talk about his catfishing trip on Sandusky Bay when he was up here (right in my back yard). He's a Kentuckian and knows a good catfish fishery when he sees one. He gave it rave reviews, as well as the entire Lake Erie islands area, which was really cool to hear, being a local. It's funny how my buddies and I live within 10 minutes of arguably one of the best catfishing destinations in the country, yet we almost never go after catfish. Anyway, I can't reiterate how great of a show it was and I'd recommend attending to anyone if they're ever back in Ohio.
A huge bonus to last night was meeting up with good buddy Huck Finn and his wife for a pre-show dinner. Steve doesn't participate on the forum quite as much as he used to but I can say he's doing well and obviously outpunted his coverage when he got married. It was great to catch up and share some time before the evenings festivities.
