LIVE from the stand 2018-19

Had a 5 pt chasing a doe on and off from about 4:45 to 5:45 yesterday then they disappeared. Right at dark a good 8 point came in running a doe all over. I would have probably shot him as he looked to be 3.5 years old but didn't matter anyway it was to dark and I couldn't see my pins. He walked 10 yards at one point and it was depressing to just watch him walk by but plenty of season left. All and all was a really awesome night to see 2 separate chases like that.

I wasn’t gonna hunt today but decided to come sit behind the house before work. First time back here this year and figured you never know.

I got out here late, just being lazy. There were two big ole does and two smaller ones coming into the woods. I was trying to balance my chair and crossbow and had to set the chair down, get an arrow on and sit down as they were walking towards me lol. They all ended up 20’ away looking at each other, back at me, stomping, curling thier top lip up... I thought I was busted for sure. They eventually calmed down and hung around for twenty minutes. Glad I fired up the smoker cause I almost skipped it.

Only have another hour but if that’s all I see it was worth it. No mess!

Blew it on a nice 10 yesterday evening. He was following a doe in, but they were on me quick as they popped out of the thicket. Had a hard time getting drawn without getting busted because they were so close.
Ended up having to wait for them to walk to my right which meant farther shot, but quartering away. Tried to tuck it in behind his ribs, but must've hit too far forward and wedged into the back of his front shoulder. As he ran off I could see alot of arrow sticking out.

Called a dog in because I couldn't find blood anywhere. Dog got on it and found my arrow. It was broke off at about 4" and blood was on the shaft maybe another 3-4". Shot was at 5:00 and we didn't start tracking until 10:00 so plenty of time for the buck to bed. We tracked for 1.5 mile according to the GPS and never found a bed and blood was sparse.
