My thoughts tonight after getting settled in after 10 minutes.
Is that a deer moving
Yep, grab crossbow.
Ugg stupid basket 8. Gonna bother me all afternoon. Nice he kept going.
I need to eat apple.
Is that a deer? Grab bino's and look
Yep big buck, why da fuk is he over there?
Text Mike and tell him (he's familiar with my stand location)
Shit 4 does coming explains why he was there.
Grab crossbow.
Please turn left at blow down
Yes! little one in front goes left
Shit other 3 go right.
Damn they went out of sight.
Text Mike and tell him I hope they circle around .
Almost dark
Should I stop and have a beer on the way home?
Oh shit here they come
Getting dark
Damn too dark.
Beer it is
😂🤣😂

I agree Kevin. Ain’t a deer in the world worth an injury or worse. Be a good day to do that list the wife has going. Maybe clean the garage or something. So be it if the one passes your stand while you’re not in it. Risk vs reward here guys...don’t let that harness give you a false sense of security. This goes against a lot of beliefs on here, but I’m sharing this anyways.

BTW, if you don’t believe this can happen to you. Lock your legs and stand at attention till you pass out...I’ve seen that happen a bunch of times. Same concept without the chance of recovery.

PPE is the last line of defense and should never give you a secure feeling inside. Be like curing you hand with a circular saw because you have leather gloves on. No shit it didn’t work?!

Seen it first hand in "Change of Command" ceremonies

Down to a sprinkle here now and sure enough the deer are getting up.

Just before 10:00, one unidentified deer and one brute of a buck got up within the CRP field in front me 400 yards out and working my way slowly.

Thank God for the rut! :)

So I'm debating whether or not to put on a stalk on this guy or one much like him that I just watched bed approximately 400 yards away within the CRP.

I know exactly where he's at right now.

I'm totally down wind, everything is wet and it's still raining.

I can either live for the adventure or wait him out and see what he does next.

What do you guys think?

A buck bedded w a doe this time of year? Yeah, go get him. They are easier to approach in that situation than any other.
