So last I checked the NFL plays football and has a 12 team playoff, so they have 8 more teams in the playoffs than they should?

Why not have automatic bids for the conference champions of the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12, ACC, AAC and then 2 at large teams to be selected from any conference or independent. You could end up with 3 SEC teams in the playoffs and make you very happy:D

I realize this is a worthless discussion as you have already made up my mind for me.:D

Been there done that last year with Georgia vs Alabama in the title game. I think Klenex single handedly raised Kimberly Clarks stock 20 points that month from all the crying and whining people did.

Fun fact! Alabama put up more points in the first quarter of a playoff game, than OSU did the whole game against Purdue. 😮

Not tonight, I got shit talking to do. Now how did you put it earlier this season in the OSU thread? Went something like "wah wah wah, this thread is for football talk. wah wah wah you should leave. 😂
That would be my point. OSU Thread...That is where OSU fans meet and talk. This is College Football.....You need an Alabluma Thread so all their fans can meet and talk about football.
Actually I would have never been on here...but this is an outdoor forum...Not ESPN.
You can talk shit all you want about OSU but we all know what happened last time we met Alabluma. You know...The day Zeke ran over you guys like a road-kill 'possum.

Ah yes. So long ago. Live in the past much? Bring you up to speed since then. Let's see, OSU has made the playoffs only once since then where they got shutout after scoring zero.

Meanwhile Alabama has.

And again

And last Saturday
CFP Semi-Final Orange Bowl Winner.

But you go ahead and hold on to those memories of days gone by. It's pretty clear who the better team is. 😅 I mean they didn't get the nickname "Kings of Confetti" for nothing.

Meanwhile in Columbus.

Nothing better than College Football! These last few bowl games can be some of the best football of the season! I actually was in Nashville visiting family over the weekend and while we were there I took the family to the Music City Bowl game!!! Damn that sucked, but was still a great time. Auburn looked like a top 4 team or should I say Purdue blew their wad on the Buckeyes and embarrassed themselves and the Big 10.

Go Bucks!!

Awesome! Agreed, nothing better. It's all in good fun. How many Auburn fans made the trip?

We sat on the Auburn side of the field and I'd say it was 50/50, a lot more crowd there than I expected.
Speed was clearly a difference in the whole first half, and after the first 6 minutes the excitement on the opposite side of the field was almost Mute. Stands started clearing after the bands played their halftime performances!
By the time we left all that was running thru my head was their chant every time they kicked off, "WarrrrrrrEagle!!!" Ugh! LOL

You're an oak. Not sure I could have listened to the war eagle chant for a full game. What a cool experience. I can't stomach the ticket prices anymore. For decent seats they've lost their minds.

does anyone else find it curious that 8 out of the 10 CFP semi-final games to date have been blowouts, or at least lopsided? only two to date that were not were the 2014 Sugar bowl (OSU vs. Bama) and the Rose bowl last year Georgia vs. Oklahoma. those were football games worth watching. the top two teams are usually never hard to spot, maybe the committee would have easier time sorting out who the next best two are by letting 3,4,5,6,7,8 make their cases on the field at the end of the season.

The problem isn't in the playoff IMO but rather the pre-season ranking and heavy reliance on win / loss numbers. For example there's no doubt that Ga would have played a better game against. clemson than ND. But because they had more losses they were out. Don't rank teams until the 4th week. And a loss to an unranked team should hold 3x the weight than a loss to a top 10 regardless of the win losd record.

Oklahoma State is looking pretty good on their passing game and moving the ball. If they can close once in the red zone they could pull this off.
