What a mess...the smells coming in the spring, along with the bugs! I’ll take my yellow snow.

Here we go boys and girls. Talked Hunter into hunting the property. He is in djs stand.
Got to property and water was up you could say. We boated over the gate which is a higher side of the crossing. We carried in a sack of golden acorns w 5 gallon buckets. Fed 700 yards sparingly. Wind is 18 WSW and think it’s blowing 14 w gust. Hunter carried his bucket to my stand then I carried his to his stand throwing golden nuggets. I am sweating my ass off!!! I will report back in later. For all the people trying to get it done today [emoji106], for the ones at work..... suckers lol.

Seen two more does by Hunters stand that he wasn’t hunting. Fixing to get down for the long walk out.

Cloudy as shit water in a blender. Hunter decided to hunt public and some bunghole climbed up 40 yards away. I’m on property, from truck to stand took 30 minutes. Out group 5 out of 6 hunters seen deer or passed and one maiden doe was killed. I got an hour left of daylight w nothing seen so far.

Update as I forgot as I was cooking fried fish for 15 guys and young men.
Last hour someone opened the gate. Total seen was a spike, 2 yr old 5pt w no brows and 5 does. Water went down about 4” from 5:30 am. Gonna be up for at least two more days. Anyway, nobody seen any deer this evening good news is tomorrow will be 38, clear sky’s, high pressure and SW wind at 4 mph. Looks promising but it is deer hunting. See you in the morning to do it all over again.
Oh Dj rolled in tonight and will be hunting property w me. Everyone else is hunting primitive on wma and one is bow hunting refuge.

The gifts keep giving this year. Finally get clear skies and a light frost on the ground. Now we docked in w fucking fog! Got 60 yards of visibility and it’s dark. When it gets light it will be much worse. Hopefully it burns off quickly and deer should be on their feet. The journey continues (or struggle) depends on your perspective.
So the good news is both boys are hunting with me this morning. Hopefully Hunter can kill a good one, that will be both boys killing for the year. If we can get that done we will probably duck hunt and bow hunt the refuge.

We seeing deer, just not the right ones. Visibility is about 250 yards. Needs to burn off.

Change of plans woke up to clear sky and cold w no wind. I got to sleep the frustration I had yesterday off. The struggle is still real as we are boating and walking in. Hopefully we get to watch and maybe kill a deer.
Been awhile since I’ve checked in over the holidays and am all caught up. Dj killed a great looking deer and what a day and memorable moment that was!!!
