Got the new tires and rims for my Chevy today. After getting stuck on the grass lawn of my buddies camp last November, I decided I needed more aggressive tread. Ordered a tire carrier and had a reciever put on the front a couple weeks ago. Had to get a 7” extension for the tire carrier so that it would clear the grill. Even got a electric 5 ton jack that plugs into the trucks outlet. Now when I get a flat tire, it’ll be like a pit stop...and I won’t miss climbing under the truck for the spare in the dark or rain. Toughest part of the job was putting on the bolts for the carrier. It didn’t come with any (none of them do for some reason) and I had to go to Home Depot and get 5” galvanized bolts, lock washers and locking nuts....then struggle to tighten them in place with the spare on to keep them lined up...all by myself. An extra pair of hands would’ve really made it easier.😂😂

Guessing I’ll be back in the market after this evenings ride. We will see if they fix it, I really hope they do. I looked for about a year to find this truck and just put a bunch of new parts in it. But apparently I should have started with some front end work because something broke and sent me for a ride. No one injured but I’m bummed thinkjng they will junk it. Damn guardrail at around 60 after the wheel assembly went under the truck.

Thankful you are safe. When you meet with insurance adjuster hand them all your receipts of recent work along with recent purchase price. You might be surprised.

And we just talked about how these low mile/one owners are hard to find...I hope they just fix this one, even if it takes a month. I don’t want a nice truck, just a reliable truck I can still work.

It was brought to my attention that the frame is likely bent. Buddy sent me back this pic...
Notice the body line and the top roof line from the cab to the camper shell. No wonder I hurt today.

So if anyone sees a clean one ton, crew cab, single rear wheel in either GM or Ford...keep me in mind please. No rust buckets or 200,000 mile trucks. Sub $35...would prefer to stay pre emission and stay under $20. For that truck, it will be Duramax only.
