Walbridge oh
Yeah Giles next time your up this way head back to Woodville surplus and buy another 870. They have a pretty decent gun store in there now or better yet hit up a gunshow and pick up a nice old one. You could buy a 2000$ Wilson combat custom and the action wouldn't be as smooth as one with thirty years of use on it.

If I remember correctly, 84 is the year they changed the action on those. I hate to admit this...I had a pre-84 870 wing master I sold when we moved here...one of those guns that was so nice it never left the safe, so I sold it.

Hey Joe...I forget.......did you ever recover that shotgun from the bottom of the pond the day you decided to go swimming instead of hunting?

Just look up the day that Joe was saved from impending death. As a result, Joe had to marry the good Samaritan's daughter.

....kind of like a reverse dowry.

Now they have a kid....not named Dave.

....and lastly Joe's still TOO afraid to ask his FIL how babies are made. :smiley_crocodile:

@OhioWhiteTails

When you get time, you will really get a kick out of these as you’ve heard some of these tales already. 😂

I didn’t pick it up last year so I didn’t have any stories to add with that damn 870.

Bahahaha, good read Dave.

Oh, and you're using that gun this year! I might just have to come down and hunt with you. I'll leave the gun at home and carry in some popcorn and watch the "magic" happen! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I told you I wasn’t touching that damn gun this year!!! @Lundy gave me an idea when I seen him. It made good sense, so I just rolled with the single shot 44 this year and things got shot dead. Thanks Kim!

Went back and reread all y’all’s stories and thanks for the smiles. Some real good memories y’all had with your 870’s and friends over the years. I still have a beautiful looking 870 Wingmaster in 12 gauge my dad bought me for Christmas way back around 1977 I think. Thing kicked like a mule when shooting at targets but not as noticeable when targets had fur,feathers or hair on it. Lol
